An extended discussion about his son’s business dealings isn’t helpful to Biden’s electability argument.
Joe Biden had a chance to excoriate Donald Trump on Friday after a blockbuster report detailed how the president pushed Ukrainian investigators to investigate Biden’s son.
Instead, Biden was circumspect and measured in a comment to reporters.
Only hours later, after Biden and his advisors weighed more facts and after Democrats renewed calls for impeaching Trump, did the former vice president’s campaign issue a broader and stronger statement.
The time it took Biden to unleash his tougher comments – which stopped just short of urging impeachment — offered an insight into the political sensitivities surrounding the situation.
Despite the outrage that greeted reports of the president’s actions, Biden’s immediate response was no simple matter. His son Hunter Biden’s lucrative contracts with Ukraine — at the same time the vice president was in charge of U.S. policy toward the country raised — raised the prospect of fueling a narrative with downside political risk for Biden.

Since we all already knew that Jr. had made bucks (that is old real news) in exchange for his daddy’s deal with the oil guys, my guess is that the B. campaign had to get this scandal rinsed out and settled before it might crash B at the wrong time. Someone is using the ol’ dossier example - but used a whistle-blower instead of a leaker. My take as well. But Joe, he ain't a-goin'. They're going to have to wheel him out on a gurney waving his arms and screeching about his service in the Spanish-American War.
They call it “fueling a narrative” about Biden’s son collecting big dirty money from Ukraine.

Now I’m strongly suspecting that Shrillary has bequeathed some of her diabolical methods, and likely some of her skullduggerous plausibly-deniable personnel to Fauxcahontas. This reeks of a two-for-one smackdown of Trump, and much more importantly at this stage, Biden, and has more Snidely Whiplash than Liawatha has the brains for. She also isn’t bright enough to cover things up like The Beast, so she’d better be careful how far down this road she goes.
