Trump won with a coalition. Haley is part of that coalition.
My ranking was not on who was ideologically pure. It was on who would be the strongest candidate, get the most votes, at this point in time May 25,2018. Haley would beat Pence head to head... at this point in time. Haley would not beat Trump ... at this point in time. Of course, Haley and Pence, and the others listed, would not run against Trump.

I wouldn’t put it past Kasich to run on 3rd party ticket. If he did that, it could hurt Trump in a close election. The Rats are most likely to nominate either Harris or Pocahontas to push the women’s meme.

Kristol has delusions of grandeur but he has no guts to actually run.
That is an astute observation, requiring high degree of political awareness. "Purity" is a loser attribute in history of elections. The candidate who usually wins can put together a coalition of separate groups. Without blue collar democrat voters in rust belt, you would have had the first woman president.

Now you are talking! As Ronald Reagan used to say, (paraphrasing) he will vote for the republican with whom he agrees on most issues (which means not necessarily all issues). Litmus tests for purity on a single issue is a good way to lose elections.
