The Democratic Party has a religious illiteracy problem that prevents them from reaching out to evangelicals, according to a former Democratic staffer.
Michael Wear, a former Obama White House staffer, explained three reasons why the Democratic Party fails to reach out to evangelical voters or voters with different theologies.
Wear, speaking with The Atlantic, pointed out that many young Democrats dont know how to discuss or deal with religious topics. This illiteracy contributes to why Democrats fail to reach out to evangelicals, Wear explained.
Its tied to the demographics of the country: More 20- and 30-year-olds are taking positions of power in the Democratic Party, Wear went on. They grew up in parts of the country where navigating religion was not important socially and not important to their political careers.(continued)

...Walks into a bar...
The ‘Rats have no problem embracing the “religious” tenets of Jihad and Sharia.
Duh! They’re basically a hell-bent party that openly booed God during their 2012 convention. You really think this pro-abortion perversion and post truth party has a problem with evangelicals?
They treat religion as just another element of their packaging. That’s why, whenever a demonrat says they’re religious, I scoff.
Remember Gore about 25 years ago with his ‘religious tradition’ crap.
They’re about the most godless creatures I know.
That was funny
...and void of any moral compass.
What does their worldview offer to evangelicals?
Absolutely zero.
They are to be fought against.
Democrats are only interested in “religious literacy” to the extent that they can use it figure out ways to hijack and subvert religion to advance their anti-human, anti-freedom agenda.
They’ve tried numerous times, starting with “liberation theology” back in the 1970s. None of these attempts have worked; hence, they’ve “turned their back on religion” as a tool for fooling the masses.
The Democrat Party has an Anti Christian problem. Illiteracy has nothing to do with it. They know about Christianity and want nothing to do with it. The Bible- Don’t kill babies-they want nothing to do with that, in fact you must help pay for someone to kill their baby. The Bible-Traditional marriage- They want nothing to do with that, in fact teaching for years it was not important until homosexuals desired marriage. Now Christians must support that in the government framework and don’t dare to not show support in refusing to bake a cake or you will be sued. That is 2 examples and so it is not a case of illiteracy.
That they did, three times.
During Hillary's campaign, she had Beyoncé and whats-his-name on stage who shouted lyrics that gave the finger to God. No one in her campaign considered that to be remarkable. People actually got up and left the audience but DNC thinks that's how you attract black voters.
They’re certainly down with islam.
...the mooslem party
Meanwhile, everyone higher up in the party still insists that going further left is the remedy.
Is that another term for “ atheism”?
The big difference between DNC and GOP used to be union versus non-union, collectivism versus individualism, centralized government versus decentralized government, central control of the economy versus free economy relatively speaking.
It was possible for Christians to fall on either side of those divides, and they did.
But they have wedded themselves to abortion, and homosexualism, and have begun to actively drum believing Christians out of the party regardless if they agree on other policies. Believing Christians within the DNC have found they are treated with contempt and hostility and have no home there.
You’ll still find older folks who hang on, steeped in the past, and you’ll find new Christians whose politics haven’t caught up with their new faith. But for the most part, DNC bleeds Christians. Its a self-inflicted wound, but one they are mostly quite happy with. They don’t like us and don’t want us unless they can use us as a fig leaf.
-Abdu'l-Baha
Their problem isn’t literacy. They fully understand religion. They also understand that if they accept religion, then they have to accept the reality of a higher power and the existence of objective truth.
