Cruz could accept an appointment to the court, served 8-12 years and still be young enough to run again for the republican nomination for President.

I think Cruz is brilliant, young, and Hispanic. He’d give libs hell for decades on the SCOTUS.

I’m for this choice.

What Cruz did at the convention was unforgivable.

Truth be told, it would be more than irritating to see the most weasly, smarmy and dishonest detractors of Trump, namely Cruz and Romney, rewarded with highest jobs in the administration.

This seems... wrong. Very wrong on many levels.

While I like the idea, there is no way Cruz can get 60 votes to be confirmed. While a good majority of the GOPe would vote to confirm just to get ride of him, it would never be enough to get to sixty with all the dems in opposition.

Senator Cruz understands and reveres Our Constitution. I believe he is now being, and should be continue to be considered for a Justice appointment to the SCOTUS.

Y’all are entitled to my opinion ~~~

The best thing about this possibility:

In Texas we have a solid Governor who would appoint another solid Conservative to the Senate. In other words, we could give up a Senator and not loose a Senator.

Some of the other names mentioned are from states where we would likely get a bad trade in the deal!

If you liked Earl Warren, William Brennan, Harry Blackmun and David Souter, you’ll love Ted Cruz.

LONG PAST TIME FOR YOU TO STOP PUSHING THE BACKSTABBER, CRUZ!

He'd make a LOUSY, UNTRUSTWORTHY, Supreme Court Justice; even worse than his pal Roberts!

Trump put up a list from which he said he would nominate SCOTUS justices. He attracted many votes with the reception that list received from conservative commentators. The Democrats - who love to declare Republican nominees to SCOTUS “out of the mainstream” did not say one word of criticism about anyone on that list.

It follows that the nomination of someone who is not on that list - including Cruz, whose nomination otherwise would make excellent sense - would be an unforced error which would let the Senate Democrats off the hook.

He’s too extra-constitutionally inventive. He renounces his Canadian and Cuban citizenship to become a natural born US citizen 40 years after his birth? No, it’s good that you renounce any other citizenships like was required for all new citizens with the oath of citizenship, but that doesn’t make you natural born.

Cruz is compromised on the anchor baby issue because of this.

Back when they presented the Constitution to the people, it wasn’t exactly a known concept. The colonists bought into it and sacrificed for it to be upheld, God bless them, but it wasn’t the sacrosanct thing that it is now for conservatives. There was actually a level above it that the people knew well called “oath” and they wouldn’t constitutionalize these oaths because it would diminish it. Nowadays the oaths are ignored because they aren’t in the Constitution.

Cruz was not on Trump's list of 20 or so candidates for first pick.

Cruz will have to wait.

Think Cruz needs to stay in the Senate for now and continue the work of getting more “like minded” candidates elected.

I speculate there is a real chance this will happen quickly. We are aware that he met in Trump tower for 5 hours. Why? He was with Trump over an hour. This is the Scalia seat. I was a Trump guy but I admired Cruz staunch constitutional fights in the Senate.I would be elated if he was our pick on day one. This would be a bomb shell in the communist head quarters that we deserve in our fight to save this country. I urge and support Ted Cruz for SCOTUS NOW!! This is the Scalia seat!! If they filibuster NUKE THE BASTARDS!! — They did that to us. There are consequences to elections.!!!!!Go CRUZ SCOTUS!!
