This idea that everything anti-Trump stems from Mitt Romney is persistent and stupid. We hear that the whole elite or Establishment in the country are against Trump, but somehow it always comes down to Mitt Romney, the tireless spider spinning endless webs of subversion.
Really, Romney could barely campaign for himself. How far did he get in his pre-convention Stop Trump plan? How's Romney coordinating this massive conspiracy? Why's he necessary if everybody else in Washington, New York, and Los Angeles is gunning for Trump?
Conspiracy theories get stupider and stupider, but if the guy the remarks were made to was cousin to one George Bush and nephew to another, and you have to have a conspiracy theory, the Bushes are more likely suspects for conspirators.
But you don't need to go much further than some unknown Access Hollywood producer who heard the conversation at the time, had a tape and sent it on to a reporter.
Trump is famous enough, controversial enough, and hated enough, that you don't need some conspiracy against him to bring stuff like this to the surface.
