Former Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson inadvertently exposed who may be on Donald Trump's list of possible running mates during Sunday's interview with The Washington Post. But those same politicians identified deflected the matter since the story surfaced.
Following Carson's exit from the campaign in March, he endorsed Trump, quickly becoming a trusted advisor. His first big task was to lead the search for a vice presidential pick. By May 12, Carson's role on this V.P. Committee had ended, according to Carson's campaign manager Armstrong Williams, who told the Independent Journal that Carson did submit a list of potential nominees to Trump...

Precisely
Smoke and mirrors
So, let's see.
Christie -- first to cross over and support Trump publicly.
Palin -- former VP nominee, openly and actively supported Trump
Kasich -- former Presidential candidate, holds a number of delegates including a win in Ohio.
Rubio -- former Presidential candidate, holds a number of delegates
Cruz -- former Presidential candidate, holds a number of delegates, including a win in Texas (among others)
Translation: OF COURSE, they would be on "the list" of potential VP's. It doesn't mean they're the ONLY names on the list. It doesn't mean they're on the short list. It doesn't mean that Trump is seriously considering them. They've got to be included in the process, if for no other reason than political courtesy.
“according to Carson’s campaign manager Armstrong Williams”
I don’t like Carson being in the inner circle either. The fact that he still has his “campaign manager” speaking for him tells me he should be minimized. Williams is nothing but a pimp for Carson and it’s now getting pretty unseemly.
I just think it is a bunch of head fakes to keep Trump in the news cycles. GO TRUMP GO
I’m not claiming any inside information. Maybe Carson still has to maintain the pretense and staff of a campaign in order NOT to have to return donations. Trump of course has no direct political experience but he is a very seasoned negotiator and a shrewd judge of character. I honestly don’t know what Carson is to him, other than a brilliant and accomplished man whom Trump would no doubt like to have on his staff....but not as a covert or overt campaign operative. Maybe I am missing something, but I just don’t see it.
Those may be on Carson’s list, but I doubt they are on Trump’s at this point. lol.....Carson sure has loose lips!
Look at Duncan Hunter Jr's resume. It's impressive and dovetails with what Trump is looking for.

Yup. I agree with you, And said smoke and mirrors a few days ago.
As another FReeper said, “Political theater.”
It could be a loyalty thing with Trump.
Yup I did too. This keeps getting posted as if it is something.
What happened to Cruz’s ground game?
I saw Carson on TV last nigbt. It must have been Hannity.
Carson said this was another example of the press misrepresenting the facts.
The dishonest reporter suggested some names and Carson did not reject them. Hence, the reporter presented a list. The dishonest press strikes again.
Ok put Karl, lets put this all together now.We have a common enemy and its the beast.
Ground game? I am still waiting for the national primary.
Yep
Duncan Hunter Jr would be an outstanding pick as far as I’m concerned.
Ted disqualified himself from VP many times over.
