No. Hard no.
A couple people on this thread seem to be entertaining the notion. WTF?
Taking the old big names off the leadership ranks in the Republican party is going to open the doors to new people that otherwise would have to wait years to get into a position of authority.
So along with a VP spot, Trump will also in a position to name the new Chairman of the Republican Party, somebody who can direct traffic on campaign contributions and guide the rules that the state parties live by.
Chairman Ivanka, anybody?
There is some little restraint on who Trump can pick for VP.
Theoretically, Trump doesn’t pick the nominee. He/she is nominated by a convention delegate and then voted in by a majority of delegates.
So he can nominate anyone he wants and the convention will rubber stamp his nominee — up to some limit. If he would nominate Bernie, just to pick a ridiculous example, the delegates would revolt. Remember, lots of these delegates are pledged to vote for him, but they’re not pledged to vote for his VP pick.
So there is some restraint on who he can pick, but Trump has tremendous room. Would the convention accept a Democrat? That might be tough.
This is insane. Trump would loose most of those who are going to vote for him if he picked a democrat for VP.
Something is very wrong with his brain. Dr. cure thyself.
This is the dumbest piece of Anti-Trump crap that I’ve seen in a while. He got the nomination, so you guys can stop with the BS.
Carson says: “We would consider people who are Americans and who put America first.”
Somehow, the WRITER of this crap piece extrapolated from that the idea that Democrats would be included and wrote a RedState style FUD piece about it.
It’s depressing to see how many ‘conservatives’ either aren’t very bright or aren’t very good at this whole politics thing.
He wants a politician familiar with Congress. His VP needs to be a southerner to balance the ticket. Should be a loud mouth that loves to intimidate with lawsuits and is accustomed to running scams, also being a certified misogynist and leftist is a must. There’s only one choice: Alan Grayson.
It’s gonna be a Trump-Sanders ticket, but I still think Trump-Andrew Dice Clay complements Trump better.
(Just think of the Trump-Dice bumper stickers...)
Lol.....perfect -That's all I have to say.
If Trump wants to win, he can't back-stab us right out the gate.
There's not a Democrat breathing who fits that description.
There'd better damn well NOT be a stinking Democrat on the ticket or I'LL stay home.
