Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus said this morning that even though no one could have "predicted what happened" in the GOP primary, "I don't think that's necessarily bad."
"You know what? I think something different and something new is probably good for our party," he told CNN.
(snip) Priebus added this morning on CNN that "obviously, you still have to get to 1,237 delegates."
The chairman said he "was surprised" that Cruz dropped out, "and that's a hard thing to do."
"I mean, he ran a very, very serious operation. Just an incredible ground game. His delegate operation was unbelievable," he added.
"I think the momentum is there. We've got a candidate that is winning in every single state. I mean, a week earlier, I don't think he had lost a county in six states. So I mean, look, it's time to unite. It's time to come together, and I said, you may recall, months ago, I thought that we would have more clarity in our party before the Democrats do. And look where they're at. I mean, Hillary Clinton, she can't win a state. She's going to have to win somewhere if she's going to be the nominee of the Democratic Party."
Responding to GOPs who were declaring Tuesday night that they are no longer affiliated with the party, Priebus said "there's going to be time here in the next few months to heal and come together." ......
"And I think people are going to understand that the words 'President Hillary Clinton' is something that we can't stand for."

Priebus has been Trumped down to size.
The party will heal.
Trump will win.
The country will be better off as a result.
By November, everyone will be on the Trump train, except for Hillary and the 30% that have no hope.
yesterday Reince was strutting, this morning, he’s smoothing feathers—sort of. Why can’t we have real men in leadership positions? Trump will put strong coaches in these strategic places and we will finally see what a winning team looks like.
“By November, everyone will be on the Trump train, except for Hillary and the 30% that have no hope.”
That can’t be right! Obama gave us all HOPE, and change, too.

Priebus will do anything to be seen as on the ‘good side’ of Trump, but he really is past the expiration date.
Bill Kristol hasn’t received the memo....he wants a third party candidate
It is called “leading from behind”.
Politicians have turned it into an art form.
Trump can be “probably good for our party” if the party gets on board...
Trump can ruin your party if you keep up with the BS....
Bill Kristol, Mark Levin and several others are showing America that America comes second to them....
I was surprised also. I feel that the confrontation that Cruz had with the “protesters” holding Trump signs and yelling “Do the math!” might have pushed him over the edge. It seemed like the pinnacle of a very bad couple of weeks for him.
Priebus continues to make veiled threats. The RNC leadership is posturing to hold onto what little power they think that they have over Trump. No matter what people think of him, Trump has a very fine tuned ability to both read people and a fine tuned perception of who actually has the power. Hillary and the Democrats most likely will not be able to figure out how to sink him, but he will most likely send the SS Clinton to the bottom.
Weasel is right. Or Droopy.
Reince Priebus is right. Trump didn't lose ONE county in six states... NOT ONE.
Contrary to what we see in the MSM Trump has supporters. Of course it's difficult to see that when every TV network's running interviews with any Republican willing to trash Trump.
It's time to Unite... and for those people who can't - it's time for those 400 insider elites to nominate Jeb and form their own party.
Even in the states that she wins, you see Bernie rather consistently beating her in most of the counties. She is really only strong in the urban areas of the states. Sometimes that's good enough to win the state overall but she's just not getting a strong showing overall. Check out how poorly she did in her "native" state of Illinois.
GOP on pace to equal the race to the end of the 2008 Democratic Primary.
Blacks after Katrina have back Trump and Romney 47% comment
Union Voters looking at Trump
Won women vote in most States.
So some elitist won't get their checks
Trump has already made those who make a FALSE Claim he is not Conservative enough, yet Gun Control , Supreme Court, Hillary who laughs that she wants Christians to pay for Abortions. Its the Money not principals that is their concern.
[The following is purely my conjecture, it may not bear any truth to reality.]
I imagine Priebus and Cruz had an understanding, that Cruz won’t need to have any worries running out of money, RNC would continue support him (or Kasich) all the way to the openly contested convention.
At which point (first ballot nobody wins the 1237 delegates), the party leaders can insert any one of their choice to stuff down republican voters’ throats.
At least that was the plan from Priebus’ point of view. Hence he was really dismayed “and surprised” that Cruz dropped out early. Followed by Kasich soon afterwards.
Now the chairman is seen scrambling to save his own bacon and save face for his leadership team.

Weasel words, pure and simple. “Oh yeah, ignore the fact that up until 2 days ago I was doing everything I could to sabotage Trump. Now that he’s won... well, I guess people like me may be losing any influence we had in the GOP, so time to put on a happy face!”
Will they be expecting the rioters to be bussed in from Portland or wherever?
