Trump Should Drop Out if He Doesn't Get Majority in New York, Cruz Campaign Manager Says
ABC News ^ | April 7, 2016 | Jordyn Phelps

Ted Cruz’s campaign manager is calling on GOP frontrunner Donald Trump to drop out of the race if he fails to clinch a majority in his home state primary later this month.

“If he doesn’t get over 50 percent, he should probably consider dropping out, like everyone else has when they don’t win their home state in a dramatic fashion,” Cruz campaign manager Jeff Roe said in an interview on ABC News’ “Powerhouse Politics” podcast Thursday.

While quipping that he doesn’t expect the GOP frontrunner to take his advice, Roe also acknowledged that Trump is the “huge favorite” headed into the New York primary and that it is an “away game” for Cruz, who did little to invite the New York vote when earlier in the campaign cycle he criticized Trump for having “New York values.”

“I’m assuming Donald is very strong in his home state,” Roe said.

Still, Roe said the campaign sees a path for Cruz to walk away with at least some delegates from the Empire State...

“That was a 6-way race. Now we’re down to 2 and a half.”

So now you’re using Trump’s excuse.

And what if he does get the majority? Should sCruz drop out? I think so!!!! Well, in all reality, sCruz shoulda dropped out long ago. No matter what, his only hope of getting the nomination is via contested convention, and he would then lose the general. I don't rightly believe, however, that he's got a snowball's chance in hell of getting the nod even via contested convention. The longer sCruz stays in, the more he illustrates the facts that:

1. He doesn't actually care about America or the voters, and

2. He's nothing more than a slezeball, scumbag politician, just like the rest of them.

Y'all might wanna start planning your Hitlery victory parties, since that's exactly what y'all are working for.

Cruz should drop out because he only got 43.8% of the vote in his home state of Texas and failed miserably in sweeping his state’s delegates.

But really, Ted Cruz may come in third in NY and he should drop out because he has no chance of winning 1237 delegates. Drop out, Ted!

Ted didn’t get a majority in Texas. Should he drop out?

The Cruz camp loves talking out of both sides of their mouths. You are right, by their own logic, they should have been out after failing to get 50% in Texas.

Trump is well on pace to get a majority here, with Cruz possibly finishing LAST.

Watching the GOP trying to destroy the first candidate in 30 years that actually is expanding the base is insane...

*********************************************

They have been working towards amnesty and open borders for decades and Trump threatens that.

The modern GOP exists to block the citizens from doing anything about the illegal alien inundation.

Curious how DT cancelled events for CA and CO to stay and campaign in NY.

Trump is increasingly being shown for the conman he is. He should never be in this race. A new national poll now says 70% of the national electorate will NOT vote him. This is devastating. Except for a ceiling of 30%-35% diehard Trumpkins, the kind who would take a volley of bullets for him in the middle of Fifth Avenue, as Trump himself confirms, no one else is now willing to pull the lever for him.

And yet, Trumpkins point to the meaningless polling done in the Reagan-Carter years of 30 years as if demographics remain static. Besides, Reagan NEVER had a 73% disapproval rate by women who make up 53% of the electorate. Folks, with Trump, we are watching the Hindenburg pass overhead.

Says the campaign manager of the candidate that couldn't win the majority in his home state.

If Cruz is mathematically eliminated from getting 1237 delegates by the end of the month and finishes third in a majority of the remaining states this month, his candidacy is a joke and he should be the one to drop out.

Cruz wants to manipulate delegates, disenfranchise voters at the convention despite the fact he won't win even a third of the states.

Cruz is absolutely scum.

Ted should have resigned as a US senator as soon as it came out that he was still a Canadian citizen posing as a natural born American.
As recent as 2 years ago he was still a Canadian citizen. His parents were not both American citizens at his birth time.
He was born in Canada.
If a person’s parents are not American citizens and the child they conceive is not born in the United States, that person is not a US citizen, unless they become naturalized. Ted may have become a naturalized citizen but there is no paperwork to prove that and there is a .ountain of evidence that he knew he was a Canadian 2 years ago. This goes Way Beyond a little white lie category or innocent ignorance. It’s fraudulent, criminal and subversive to our Constitution.
He should be thrown out of the Senate because of his alleged dual-citizen status at the time of his election which he did not disclose to his constituents.

That was a 6-way race. Now we’re down to 2 and a half.

The half being Cruz in the upcoming northeastern primaries.

If Cruz can't even manage to finish second in three-man race in the majority of the upcoming states this month, why on earth is he anything but a GOPe hack trying to force a contested convention?
