Recent history says the GOP won't learn its lesson next time around.
Donald Trump is halfway to the Republican presidential nomination. Sen. Ted Cruz is the only rival who can catch him. Many Republicans think either candidate would be a disastrous nominee, but they aren't sure which is worse. Trump is volatile and incendiary. Cruz is dogmatic and abrasive. Choosing between them, in the words of Sen. Lindsey Graham, is like choosing between "being shot or poisoned."
The good news, these Republicans figure, is that neither injury would be fatal. With Trump or Cruz at the top of the ticket, 2016 will be a bad year. But the loss will sober Republican voters. They'll learn that rejecting the establishment candidate, and nominating an angry outsider or a zealot instead, just surrenders more votes and more power to the Democrats. The GOP's fever will break, and in 2020 Republicans will choose a more mainstream candidate....

2016 will be a very good year.
Maybe next time around we can have a populist movement for an ex wrestler instead of a reality tv host. I nominate Steve Austin. Screw it. Why not.
Maybe by then Michelle Obarry can change parties and become a convenient conservative... it is the trend.
Steve Austin!!?? That’s just stupid!

Jesse Ventura. He already has some political experience!
2024 maybe, or not!
Trump for 4 years would be good-gut the gov’t. Cruz as VP would be the Pied Piper of conservatism.
If Donald Trump loses, it’ll likely be because the “Establishment” sabotaged him.
They want Hillary Clinton if the Establishment candidate doesn’t get the nomination.
And at long last acceptance is starting to show its face.
And maybe next time you will nominate real candidates not the usual GOPE clown candidates who squeal “Conservative” every other sentence to keep the brain dead bot “Movement Conservative” voters on the GOPE Plantation
2020 will be Trump’s re-election campaign. If Cruz manages to shed the putrid stink of warmed over Bush by 2024, he might have a shot.
I didn’t nominate anybody. So I have no idea what you are talking about.
And maybe next time you will nominate real candidates not the usual GOPE clown candidates who squeal Conservative every other sentence to keep the brain dead bot Movement Conservative voters on the GOPE Plantation
Oh what the matter baby, can dish it but cannot take it?
You said “And maybe next time you will nominate real candidates not the usual GOPE clown candidates who squeal”
I didn’t nominate anybody. Tell me who exactly I nominated.
Cruz 2020?
No.
actually it would be 2024, and 8 years of Hillary will be the ultimate ruin of our country and we will have almost no freedoms left, probably even to vote.
That hasn't hurt Trump.
Cruz is a native born Canadian. No on can ever change that fact. He cannot also be a native born American.
