Mitt Speech Was Worse Than Nothing

According to Romney in 2012: Donald Trump has shown an extraordinary ability to understand how our economy works and create jobs for the American people. He’s done it here in Nevada. He’s done it across the country. He understands that our economy is facing threats from abroad. He is one of the few people who stood up and said, “You know what? China has been cheating. They’ve taken jobs from Americans. They haven’t played fair. We have to have a president who will stand up to cheaters. We believe in free trade and free enterprise, but we don’t believe in allowing people to cheat, day in and day out.”

I spent my life in the private sector – not quite as successful as this guy [pointing to Trump]. Nonetheless, sufficiently successful to understand what it takes to get America to be the most attractive place in the world for innovators, entrepreneurs and business— and job creators…. So I want to say “thank you” to Donald Trump, and I look forward to seeing you out on the trail. Thank you, Donald.

You get it.

And the goal of this system is to control the majority, through a Republican party that pretends to be on our side, but is really on the other side, while the Democrats get their way.

You’re exactly right, but think about this —by his own words, Romney gets much more worked-up over the idea of an insurgent outsider candidate (Trump) winning the Presidency than he does about a hardcore liberal Democrat (Obama) winning it. This tells us all we need to know about which is more important to him, and by extension, to the GOPe bosses who convinced him to do this. It cannot be any more clear.

Not only did Romney NOT attack Obama, but he complimented him. Repeatedly.

"Obama is a patriotic American and a wonderful husband and father. I simply disagree with his policies."

I’m still trying to understand why no one told Mitt teleprompters cast weird shadows on his face.

This clearly shows the GOP Elites attack republican voters more than their democrat opponents.

That's because the GOP E hate conservatives more than the rats.

The GOPe house needs strong fumigation by an outsider.

Not just the GOPe. The entire federal government needs fumigated.

The speech was universally reviled by just about every commentator and pundit in America. Mitt completely destroyed any political future he might have had with his arrogant, condescending tone.

I’ll bet he’s kicking himself around the block this weekend, and hating on whomever it was who put him up to it.

You get not only an apple for teaching the class but also a couple gold stickers for candor.

People are starting to get it, and it pisses off the great Oz’s behind the curtain.

NRO conservative impostors are finally realizing Mittens is a con man?

They endorsed him! And they watched him choking pursuing the case against Obama.

Let’s face it: #NeverTrump is dead because Mittens is now its public face.

The GOP establishment doesn’t get it.

“Hate Donald all you want - he’s the one who exposed it, whether he entirely intended specifically to expose it or just because he was his own awesome authentic prick self. God tends to favor authentic prick over fake compassionate or socially gentle without action by the way, for those who are anti-trump only because they are too good for him. He may love you equally, but his hand will favor Trump’s direction.”

This piece was so good and true, thus, quite profound, that I had to repost it so that others could marvel at its profundity.

My opinion of why Palin was chosen as VP in 2008...

1. Juan McInsane was the chosen Establishment member to lose to Obamatollah

2. The Establishment saw Palin as THE rising Conservative star

3. By attaching Palin to a losing campaign would tarnish Palin and end any political career as well as defeat a Conservative. Again.

4. When Palin alone rocketed the campaign into the lead, the Establishment panicked.

5. To insure a GOP loss, Juan tanked the campaign every way that could be done

The rest is history...

The GOP establishment doesn’t get it.

I watched a few minutes of Romney's smarmy, condescending speech where he lectured me as if I were an unruly child and my first thought was that if Trump isn't paying Romney to remind guys like me how pissed I am at GOP establishment, he ought to be!

There were two important things about the Romney speech:

1) It revealed that he knows how to attack. Therefore, he did not fail to attack Obama because he lacked the ability, he failed because he lacked the will.

2) The GOP "leaders" who put him up to it understood the need to attack a potential winner before it's too late. Therefore, the reason THEY failed to attack Obama in 2008 AND 2012 is NOT that they lacked understanding, it is that they lacked the will.

Quote from the article:

“Romney’s speech today was a well-conceived attack on Trump’s “brand” – a shredding of Trump’s business savvy as only Romney could do it because Romney “is a successful businessman from the world of Trump.”

Except that’s not true. Mitt Romney’s enormous financial success (I live less than a mile from his NH estate and know people who work for him here) was gained by financial manipulation. Nothing wrong with that, capitalism needs financiers.

But Mitt never built a tree house. His employees say he’s a good guy, and I believe it. But guys aren’t lining up to have a beer with him, either.

Donald Trump is, undoubtedly, every bad thing his enemies say he is. But he’s a real builder who got rich by building real things, and he made his sons learn trade skills before they moved into management.

Romney is, by no means, “from the world of Trump”.

What you expressed in your post, are the same thoughts I always post. There is a big difference in my opinion between a Warren Buffet who got rich by trading stocks and never built a backyard fence by himself, and a Donald Trump who actually created 66,000 real jobs in the private sector all by himself, by managing successfully the complex task of building sky scrapers, large hotels, world class golf resorts, casino’s, etc.

Jobs created by Cruz all by himself = 1 (a baby sitter)

Jobd created by Rubio all by himself = 1 (a baby sitter)

Romney + McCain = both cowards in attacking the vast fertile & vulnerable grounds on which Obama could have been attacked.
