[6/16/2015] Donald Trump changed political parties at least five times: report
The Washington Times ^ | 6/16/2015 | Jessica Chasmar

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump switched political party affiliations at least five times since the late '80s...

...he left the party as recently as 2011.

Mr. Trump registered for the first time in New York as a Republican in July 1987, only to dump the GOP more than a decade later for the Independence Party in October 1999, according to the New York City Board of Elections.

In August 2001, the billionaire enrolled as a Democrat. Eight years later, he returned to the Republican Party...

After only two years as a registered Republican, Mr. Trump left the party again, and in December 2011 marked a box that indicated, "I do not wish to enroll in a party."

Mr. Trump returned to the GOP in April 2012...

The record now shows that Ted Cruz was only a Canadian up until 1986 when his parents filed the proper forms to register his birth in Canada to an American mother so he could get a US Passport. Then he was a dual Canadian-American citizen up until 2014 when he renounced his Canadian citizenship. So that looks like two changes of citizenship status to me.

Did you register as a Democrat? If you did it proves a lot.

My only choice would be Independent but I think here in Idaho I couldn't vote in the primary unless I party bounced.

I think your main point is that Trump is a chameleon and too much of a risk to be president. That's a valid point. I've given up hope on lifetime politicians that do squat but help themselves.

That said, it could end up being another election where I have to go hold my nose and color in the dot for the R.

No, it proves that Trump is moderate enough to be comfortable being a Democrat. This is all totally consistent with his past interviews praising Hillary and defending other liberal positions like the bank bailout and stimulus package. Ted Cruz would never in a million years register as a Democrat. There is no way I will vote for a candidate who was comfortable being a Democrat in his 60s who is still in his 60s.

At what point will you admit you’re helping the Democrats?

I mean vote for him in the primaries. I’ll vote GOP in the general no matter if it’s Trump, Bush, Kay-sick, etc.

This is from June '15.

Trump did business in Democrat Cities. It wasn't just a national decision.

Frankly, after McCain, I ceased being registered as a Republican, since they did not represent my interests any more.

But, but most Trump supporters don’t care how many times he’s switched parties. Only the church ladies on FR. Oh what will we do the sky is falling, Trump used to be Democrat. :-)

First Roberts, now this.

Ted Cruz is good pals and voted to confirm Obama’s favorite for Scotus, Srikanth Srinivasan.

Nick, I’ve switched to Ted Cruz! Last night convinced me that Ted is The One! The Only! The True Consistent Conservative! So if Hillary has any chance of winning we have to nominate Ted Cruz! Opps! Did I say that with my outside voice?
