If the Republican establishment wants to slow Donald Trumps momentum, it has its work cut out for it in South Carolina. The first poll there since Trumps dominant performance in the New Hampshire Republican presidential primary on Monday shows that he has extended his lead in the Palmetto State ahead of its primary scheduled for Feb. 20.
The poll, conducted on behalf of the Augusta Chronicle, Fox News 5 Atlanta and Morris News Service, showed Trump with 36.3 percent support among likely voters in the GOP primary, up from 32 percent that last time the poll was in the field a month ago.
Trumps gain did not come at the expense of his nearest rival, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who took 19.6 percent, up from 18 percent in January. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio also gained, going from 11 percent to 14.6.
The biggest winner, though, was Ohio Gov. John Kasich. After a strong second place showing in New Hampshire, the poll found that his support in South Carolina had tripled, from 3 percent to 9 percent.

My hearing aid was malfunctioning, did Kasich say his father was a Mailmen, or a Mail order bride?
I tried hugging my neighbor, as Kasich suggested, but her husband kicked my butt.
Great scene from a great movie!

LOL!
Thanks for that...I needed a good laugh :-)
Kasich is my governor. Is he a RINO? On some things - yes, but, he has done some good things in the state too. For instance, he has been instrumental in shutting down the “pill mills” here. He also raised our homestead exemption on home taxes from $5,000 to $25,000, which has personally been a great savings for me. He has taken a very strong stance against the abortion clinics as well. I sure wish he wasn’t so mellow on illegals, Common Core and a few other things - because he has done some good tings here in our state.
He is a fine man... and would make a good leader if the world was sane instead of insane.
>>Thus we need a bulldozer as president... and Trump is a D10 Cat!<<
BEST LINE OF THE WEEK!
Maybe John Kasich will make his postman father proud. Maybe Donald Trump will appoint him as U.S. Postmaster General.
Cruz already promised Kasich the Postmaster General job in Canada. ;-)
Decent and sane people want jobs and not welfare.
Their isn’t enough welfare to go around, anyone with an IQ over 80 knows this.
hahahaha that is some funny stuff! You guys are brilliant with your graphics and stuff! I love it :)
sorry, but what’s a pill mill?
“He is a fine man... and would make a good leader if the world was sane instead of insane.”
Well said, he does seem like a decent guy, a really decent guy, just not the ass-kicker we need right now.
We had a huge problem here in Ohio. People would go from one doctor to the other, or one hospital to another to get pain pills. They now have a database that doctors and pharmacists can access so they don’t give duplicate prescriptions to the addicts. It has been really effective. Hope this explains it to you.
Normally I do not put too much emphasis on polls, even though they are hard not to watch them. So I end up watching them, no matter what, but still in the back of my mind it is “do not put too much emphasis on polls”...
But going over all of them tonight, it seems Trump is going to win South Carolina. Which is great. Unlike other Presidential elections, I think the results of the early states are going to pretty much wrap it up. South Carolina is going to more than just important.
Tomorrow is the debate, I know those who are really into this are watching the debates and really consider them important.
Yet, I think after a couple more, pretty much most Republicans other than the adamant supporters of this or that candidate who are scoring every little thing in hopes they can run with it to try and damage another candidate, yet for most of the base I think the debates will soon reach their saturation point. Folks are going to get “debated out”, enough already, they know what is the main points of each candidate. So unless one or the other does something REALLY stupid and just SCREAMS headlines, they are going to soon be tuning out the debates and only reading any screaming headlines if and when they happen.
The saturation point when any particular debate is going to give a notable up beat for one or the other is about over - the only one I think who could try to eek out a few more bonus points is Rubio perhaps, that’s about it, but this debate tomorrow will be the “next to last” one that is going to have any real impact one way or the other.
It Trump comes out tomorrow just fine, he is going to win S.C.. After that, the debates will get less, and then a lot less, attention from the voters. Doesn’t matter the tensions involved between the top tier.
I got more than a sense, Trump wins S.C., after the that, one more big win and this is over.
It will be pretty much done by March 1st. If it were any GOPe candidate who was in Trump’s position, with that big a lead for that long the media would have declared it over and be talking about a “coronation”.
“Hope this explains it to you.”
Clear as day now, I had never heard the term. Doctor Shopping is always what I’ve heard, like what Rush did (and many others do). Pill Mill sounded like they were making pills in a backroom, like knock-off pills or something.
I get my vitamins online, and thought “uh oh, Ohio is churning out bogus pills?”
Thanks for the clarity.
ROFLOL!!
Unless the kids campaign, they should be off limits.
Similarly Kasich’s dad should be off limits - I assume he is deceased by now. You don’t know that he ever went postal.
Seriously? First time I’ve heard that.
