In the aftermath of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's endorsement of Donald Trump, conventional wisdom says that Trump is back on top in the first primary state of Iowa after Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) jumped ahead in the state polls a few weeks ago.
Charles Krauthammer said, "I think this could be decisive... not because it helps Trump or it brings him additional support, but that it hurts Cruz. The one thing standing between Trump and success in Iowa is Cruz. He attributes his success in becoming a Senator to her. She now turns against him." Mark Halperin of Bloomberg said on MSNBC, "I think at this point, if you said, of all the people in the race, who's the one most likely to win both Iowa and New Hampshire, today you'd have to say it's Trump." Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) 's top 2008 strategist, Steve Schmidt, says, "If you were betting on who's going to be the Republican nominee today, you'd put your money on either Trump or Cruz... And with the odds favoring Trump."
But Ted Cruz can still win Iowa...

Chicago was a SANCTUARY CITY before Teddy even thought about running for the Senate. And putting in a business bankruptcy, which Trump wound up making money on, whilst leaving out Cruz’s loans and mortgages is laughable.
And that’s what he’s been doing since before he declared.
...A guy so stable, sober and poised that you want his finger on the button. It's a good list of Trump weak points. I notice that the list does not include any of Cruz's weak points, so some would say the list is biased. The last point I strongly disagree with. Trump is very solid. Here's a guy who built a $10 billion business and has been in the public eye for decades. One of the key reasons I am voting for Trump is his experience and success running a large organization. I posted a little analysis on FR that looks at the Trump vs. Cruz debate from a non-policy angle. Cheers. |
Uh, no. Emanuel declared Chicago’s sanctuary city status in July of 2012. Cruz was already busy trouncing Dewhurst in the runoff.
But you obfuscate the point: Cruz has never helped elect a man who declared his city a sanctuary for illegals.
Reagan didn't espouse any ideology, neither did Ike, nor any others of the past.
I'm happy that Trump "scares" you....but really, you shouldn't admit that out in the open.
Have you ever lived in Chicago?
He don’t have to. He already did. Ask Beck. Go Leafs!
What is your basis for this? It it based upon your feelings? Or is there some factual evidence that backs this up?
Here is what Ted Cruz said in June of 2013:
This Gang of Eight bill is a disaster. It is the exact same thing we saw in 1986. The last big immigration reform was in 1986, and the federal government told the American people, we're gonna grant amnesty for the three million people who are here illegally. And in exchange for that we're actually gonna secure the borders. We're gonna solve illegal immigration, and the problem is gonna go away.
Now, we saw what happened. The amnesty happened, the borders never got secured, and now three decades later, instead of three million people, it's 11 million people.
I post this in hopes that there is still the capacity to reason and think critically inside of you. But if your response to the first question is 'feelings', then I know nothing I could ever post would do any good.
Frankly, one can color my face shocked. Forget the Beck incident (which was really beyond the pale) there seem to be so many issues in which the man was very generous with the wool he pulled over our eyes. Saw today the video of Trump’s rally yesterday in Pella, Iowa. Feeling much like he. We like Cruz but at this time have a good many questions for him which need to be answered - the sooner the better. Now it is understood as to why the Cruzers were so brutal in the attacks upon US at FR. They are frightened out of their wits should these accusations be true.
Sen. Cruz shame on you if this is fact. Your faithful constituents deserve answers. Wouldn’t you agree, sir?
Thank you Mr. Trump for making this public and tossing it into our conversation. It is something which needs to be discussed.
Uh. Yup. He did it. I didn't see any ISIS goons with a rusty knife to his neck making him swear on the super secret compass of Washingron. Do stupid things. Win stupid prizes.
Guess we will never know. Stayed tuned.
I pray Cruz loses. I want this primary done. If Trump wins Iowa, the primary is over and that is what we need. We can then concentrate on the General. It took too long in 2012. We ended up losing.
Hmmmm. You really didn’t disagree with anything I said. Reagan most certainly had an ideology. Maybe you can research and find it. Then again, you were probably a John Anderson supporter. He was more like Trump.
Reading your post made me barf all over the place. God does not hate this country enough.
That hook is in deep...not good.
I worked on BOTH of Reagan's winning presidential campaigns; didums. He mentioned the THREE things he wanted to do, over and over and over again; ideology? Not really; not in the way YOU mean it.
As a matter of fact, I worked on quite a number of winning GOPer presidential campaigns, so you really shouldn't assume anything at all about me, in the negative. That only makes YOU look extremely foolish; which you are.
Ted said that ?
GLENN BECK: AT THE SAME TIME, AT THE SAME TIME, I WAS WITH AN IRISHMAN THIS WEEK. HE LIVES IN DUBLIN. HE LOVES THIS COUNTRY SO MUCH, HE WANTS TO LIVE...
Awww now, I luv the pretty lasses. Ever hear tell 'o the time I asked on fair maiden if she be from Dublin? We ended up gettin along splendid the rest of the evening after she smiled at me second rejoinder.
>>Guess we will never know. Stayed tuned<<
Yes, yes we will. If Ted Cruz wins Iowa, the media is full of $@!&
