Less than a decade ago, Donald Trump could be spotted on TV or in print gushing over Hillary Clinton. He publicly praised her health care plan (it had an individual mandate). He said he liked Clinton and her husband âvery much.â He said she would do a good job negotiating with Iran.
During the heat of the 2008 campaign, Trump took to his own blog to praise Clinton, writing that sheâd make a great president.
âHillary Clinton said sheâd consider naming Barack Obama as her vice-president when she gets the nomination, but sheâs nowhere near a shoo-in,â wrote The Donald about the heated Democratic primary in 2008. âFor his part, Obama said heâs just focused on winning the nomination, although at least one member of his team said Clinton would make a good vice-president. (I know Hillary and I think sheâd make a great president or vice-president.)â
BuzzFeed News previously uncovered past Hillary Clinton praise on his Trump University blog, calling her a âgreat trouper.â
And in other news nobody cares!
And, still, no one cares.
You’ve convinced me...now I have no choice but to support Hillary. You’ve just ruined my day. :(
“Donald Trump Once Blogged That Hillary Clinton Would Make A Great President”
yeah, we know - because that factoid has been posted here nearly thirteen bazillion times. I also heard that Trump once tried to pull a little girlâs pigtails on the playground when he was in 1st grade. He probably doesnât do that anymore either. Nonetheless, I’m pretty sure either incident disqualifies Trump from being President.
You can fool some of the conservatives all of the time...
That was then.
People change.
Nobody is entitled to change their mind or reevaluate someone 10 years later. How stupid can political news get. That’s who I want for President, someone that never changes their mind. Yea right.
Oh man, that’s a dealbreaker for me. That’s it, game over. Time to vote for Hillary (s/)
So? How many people support pot that just a year ago, or less, said no? Look at Trump’s history. Evolved but conservative, plays nice with some people, plays hardball as well. Times change and if you are stuck in a rut, you lose. Consider, with Clinton, that Trump can welcome in those past Clinton supporters that have now soured. While you might see some of these change positions as negatives, I bet he’d describe them, as he has already done, as being respectful, as showing strength, etc. He’s a winner and is fighting today’s battles, not yesterdays. Republicans lose if they keep wanting to fight old news.
At that time there was no past behavior in leadership to prove future performance.
Between her do nothing Senate career and a totally destructive SOS tenure that contributed to many hundreds of thousands Dead we have ALL learned what she is not capable of.
It’s interesting to see Trump supporters become further entrenched and unwilling to analyze the historical record of their candidate.
That was all prior to Hillary becoming a lesbian alcoholic.
I just shake my head
I noticed that some of the Cruz people especially think that you can’t ever change your mind....despite Cruz himself changing his mind on an important vote or two...when HE KNEW he was running for POTUS and would be under scrutiny.
That's debatable. But it was definitely after what he's criticizing her for now.
If anyone was wondering how Hillary would respond to Donald's latest attack, now we know: By replaying his own words that Hillary's great and Bill's dalliances weren't important.
Sorry, Trump is for legalizing illegals. “You have to give them a path,” he said. “You have to.” He said it just a few months ago.
Yea, he said they have to leave and apply like everyone else.
