One day after a report that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) questioned Donald Trump's "judgement" in a private event, Trump called out Cruz for criticizing him behind close doors but refraining from negative comments in public.
Looks like @tedcruz is getting ready to attack. I am leading by so much he must. I hope so, he will fall like all others. Will be easy!
.@tedcruz should not make statements behind closed doors to his bosses, he should bring them out into the open - more fun that way!
Cruz has so far refrained from bashing Trump in public. After Trump announced his proposal to ban Muslims from coming to the United States, Cruz disagreed but stopped short of condemning Trump's remarks.
But the Texas senator spoke about Trump and Ben Carson during a Manhattan fundraiser on Wednesday, according to the New York Times.
"Who am I comfortable having their finger on the button? Now thatâs a question of strength, but itâs also a question of judgment. And I think that is a question that is a challenging question for both of them," Cruz said of Trump and Carson.
Cruz has started gaining on Trump in the key primary state of Iowa, which may be making Trump uneasy. The real estate mogul has a habit of attacking his Republican rivals when they rise in the polls, as both the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal noted this week. Trump may have released his proposal to ban Muslims from entering the country in an attempt to boost his support with evangelical voters in Iowa.
I believe this... truly I do!
It doesn’t hep the Mr. Cruz looks like Count Chocula’s brother.
Cruz even basically gloated about his deception, his scheme to "smother them with love," on top of basically saying Trump was an unserious candidate. If Cruz wants to talk s***, he should come out and do it or else apologize to Trump or repudiate the remarks. Cruz in fact denied twice he made them in interviews, then bizarrely later admitted it, probably when he was informed there was a recording.
We are looking at a repeat of 2012 on steroids all pumped up on the outside while rotting on the inside, only to suffer the worst eventually rising to the top, it seems conservatives are all to willing to hit the self destruct button, sacrificing the very best to manipulation only to get another Romney.
There were two anonymous people claiming an attack with only one freaking word reported by the NYT’s, the NYT’s people, the NYT’s, as per usual they keep throwing crap at the wall till something sticks, what is scary is so many fail to see media and establishment manipulation in this whole deal and begin wallowing the slough of deceit, we are once again snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Quite unfair how you are twisting the truth. You are trying to blame Trump for what Cruz said.
That was not Trump’s voice on that audio.
And yes, the content isn’t all that bad because Cruz was fundraising.
If I am being criticized, I would also fight back.
I fail to see how Trump has turned Cruz’s words into a huge battle. People should be more upset that someone recorded this to start trouble.
Don’t blame Cruz... go back and READ what he said....if that is inflammatory, Trump really IS controlling of what others say.. gracious!!
He said it was a question of judgment and it is a challenging question.
Cruz was in what he thought was a private meeting. If he said “Trump is unfit to be President because of his poor judgment” in that meeting, you would have a point.
But even in a private meeting with his own donors, Cruz didn’t say that! He said that he thought the people, you know the voters, would think those kinds of questions and Trump and Carson would be challenged by them.
Cruz did not say Trump had poor judgment. He didn’t say it in private, he didn’t say it in public, he didn’t say it at all.
He said voters would consider judgment as well as strength, and that question would be a challenge for them. But guess what? It’s a challenge for Cruz as well.
Even in a private, smoky backroom discussion, Cruz didn’t “go after” Trump. He likes him. He respects him. But Cruz thinks that he (Cruz) is still better suited to be President than Trump.
Of course he does, or he wouldn’t be running.
Also interesting is that Trump’s former wives both like him and both said he would be a great President.
An Iowa Evangelical is a retard who will vote for a Mormon, a Roman Catholic, or a Seventh Day Adventist if they can act like Evangelicals.
I listened to the tape of the remarks he made posted on another thread. This was much ado about nothing. Cruz didn’t attack anybody. He was talking about how the campaign was playing out and how events were shaping people’s perception. I encourage anyone who has doubts to listen to the tape.
It’s a good strategy! Too bad he admitted to it.
So, given the choice between Cruz and a lying, murdering Commie, people in the middle will chose the lying, murdering Commie???
In sure as hell see it. I was thinking yesterday that a battle between Trump and Cruz will elect a Jeb type.
No, only donnie trump. A little boy who belittles all against a real man.
Maybe freepers will at least now quit the Cruz for VP mantra.
and I don’t think he will.. we need to encourage him with more support financially and with words of encouragement by phone calls, etc.
They smoke corn cob pipes and get drunk on ethanol.
Sit back and watch then you can convince yourself it’s not happening.
Thank you for posting the word for word comments. I listened to the tape, also. Trump wants to attack Cruz and the media wants to stir this up. Cruz said nothing that anyone should take offense.
Baloney.
Saying at every speech that Hillary should be put in jail is the perfect foil for helping Hillary.
We’re all fooled.
