Trump, Carson or Cruz?
The Morning Call ^ | October 30, 2015 | Bill White

I have a weird proposition for you today. Consider this Halloween-related.

If you had to choose between Donald Trump, Ben Carson and Ted Cruz as the next president, which one would you pick and why?

If you're a very conservative Republican, this may not be such a daunting prospect. If you're a moderate of either party or someone on the farther left, you're more likely to be appalled.

But in the wake of a debate in which Cruz emerged as an increasingly popular candidate in the crowded GOP field, and in which Trump and Carson remain the front-runners, I think it's a reasonable question. None of the Above is not an option in this case.....

The apparent electability of Trump is one of his greatest assets, but I do think that he also might make a kick-ass President that we need now. He has the celebrity appeal. Thank God that Michael Jackson never ran for President.
But I think that most of us know that Cruz is far and away the most intelligent politician we have seen in generations.

So, is she a "natural born" citizen? Would John Jay consider her to be a foreigner?

If she was born at the Navy Base and got a US Consulate Infant Born Abroad Birth Certificate and Passport then yes, of course she is. If She was born in a Japanese Hospital on the local economy and was not reported to the State Department at the time of her birth, then no, she is not. The difference is that by Status of Forces treaty our overseas posts and bases are considered US territory effectively

7 FAM 1133.3-3 What Constitutes U.S. Physical Presence d. Interpretation of "Periods of Honorable Service in the Armed Forces of the United States" (4) Only periods of honorable U.S. military service abroad count as periods of physical presence in the United States. However, some persons who have received other than honorable discharges may have some periods of honorable service that can be confirmed by the military authorities. Other members of uniformed services are considered U.S. Government employees pursuant to 5 U.S.C. 2105(a).
g. Interpretation of "Dependent Unmarried Son or Daughter and a Member of the Household"
(1) General Interpretation. A citizen son or daughter of any parent whose
employment abroad with the U.S. Armed Forces, the U.S. Government, or
a designated international organization qualifies as physical presence in the
United States may count as physical presence in the United States any
time spent abroad with such parent during the parent's employment as
long as the son or daughter was an unmarried, dependent member of the
parent's household. Whether the parent was a citizen or an alien at the time
of employment is immaterial.

Earlier in this thread I mentioned that my Daughter was Born in the Azores. The State Department made it clear that I needed to register her birth as a Georgia Citizen. When we got back home, I took the paperwork to the Floyd County, GA Registrars Office and had her put in the books as a resident of Georgia!

We were told at the time that the Portuguese law indicated that she could elect to have Portuguese citizenship when she came of age but of course she never did that.

There is a wonderful story to tell about our Daughters birth. When my wife went into labor the Hospital had to power up the maternity ward just for her. She had treatment better than the Queen of England. It was the oddest thing though to push her wheelchair through the doors in the dark as the Nurse had to find the light switches as we watched all the lights turn on one by one down the hallway. Good memories.

Just re-read your last sentence in your post. I really, really think that the debate that you need to see is Cruz vs. Hildabeast.

I agree Cruz would be awesome against her as well. Either way with Trump or Cruz this would be the most exciting election in decades really. Trump or Cruz vs Bush, Dole, Bush, McCain, or Romney there is really no contest. We have the potential to have a real nominee this time.

Ted Cruz cannot win against the Democrat. They will bring this issue up at the most opportune time to cast doubt.

Right. Like the sheeple care about birferism! Like they voted against Obama because his daddy was a furrin Kenyan communist, and President McCain went on to inaugurate Morning in America!

If Cruz is nominated, he will win! And your quack, cockamamie legal theories will not matter!

Sad for Cruz but I can't vote for him.

Anyone who fails to vote for whichever of the Republican candidates wins the nomination is a total loser, a non-entity worthy of no respect!

So you are telling me that some Jihadist living in say Dearborn can go to Syria on a US passport, hook up with a local girl and their child is a natural born citizen of the USA and eligible to become President to the United States. Do you really think that was the founder intent when they wrote our Constitution?

Yes jut like same sex marriage, abortion, open borders and Obamacare. The rule of law no longer applies in the USA. And if you don’t like it, to freaking bad. Welcome to the new USA, not much like the old USA. Lets see how long your second amendment rights last under President Hillary. And according to you when the next Congress redefines militia to mean the national guard well that’s just the way it is. Suck it up and turn in your guns. Great American you are.

>>”Ted Cruz..he holds the constitution sacred.”<<

Your comment:
>>His running for the office in itself is a corruption of our Constitution and a validation of the Usurper Obama.<<

“No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.”

In its first naturalization statute, Congress declared that “the children of citizens of the United States, that may be born beyond the sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born citizens.”

The supreme court has never ruled on the ambiguity of the “natural born citizen clause”, Article II, section 1, clause 5, particularly whether a person born of an American citizen in a foreign country is considered natural born.

What Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 does do is forbid foreigners born in foreign countries, to foreign parents to ever hold the office of the presidency.

Ted Cruz is as American as apple pie. To continue to fight otherwise would be to deny this nation of a statesman that could quite possibly begin to turn this sinking ship around.

Your call.

Donald Trump will "politically MASSACRE" snarky little Marco "Amnesty" Rubio at the next GOP Presidential Debate ... by ATTACKING Rubio over the H1B Visa issue.

They debate television crews will need a ten-man bucket and mop brigade to mop the "political blood" off the floor ...

================================

I'm a GREAT Ted Cruz supporter ...

I spearheaded and organized the FIRST and VERY successful "Ted Cruz Florida Grassroots Leadership Conference" on 18 July 2015 in Orlando.

BUT ... as a Senior Aerospace Mechanical Engineer ... I've seen LOTS of Americans Computer Programmers, Engineers (et al) get FIRED and replaced by Indians and other H1B Visa "drones" ...

"Every" American scientist and engineer live in FEAR of H1B Visas ... trust me ...

Finally ... Ted Cruz's (otherwise brilliant campaign) comes to a screeching "Warp-Speed-Nine" DEAD-STOP in the future debate where Donald Trump CHALLENGES Ted Cruz on H1B Visas.

At that point, Ted Cruz's campaign is OVER - DEAD - FINISHED.

Jeff Roe (Ted Cruz National Campaign Manager) ... are you LISTENING ?????

“Cruz, because I’m rather fond of the US Constitution.”

Well, somebody should be fond of it. I’m starting to think that you and I are a distinct minority, not only in the country as a whole but in our own party.

Cruz birthers are the epitome of the low-information voter.

The fact that you’re suddenly revealing yourselves in number tells me that you Trumpers aren’t as secure in holding onto your unstoppable juggernaut as you want people to think.

All the big graphics and pictures in the world won’t change the fact that your boy Trump wants to import foreigners to live and work here but doesn’t have the honesty to use the term H1-B.

"Many of those people who usually consider working "with Democrats, when necessary, to get things accomplished" to be a weakness will, of course, abandon their so-called principles and go along with that because it's Trump."

Notice that it was carefully and studiously ignored on this thread.

It's far from the first instance we've seen of Trump fans drifting leftward in order to support him.

Clearly, you haven't read the story where Donald Trump is demanding that Disney re-hire the 250 Americans fired and replaced by Indians ...

Catherine, I didn't photoshop the pictures of Dr. Ben Carson "shilling" for Mannatech ... and I didn't ask that Dr. Ben Carson accept $ 120,000 from Mannatech ...

Maybe you can ask Dr. Ben Carson about that.

And ... BTW ... the pictures aren't about Trump, they're about Dr. Ben Carson.

Maybe you can ask the Ben Carson Presidential Campaign to provide a time-lime record of "every" financial transaction between him and Mannatech ... and explain why Ben Carson endorsed Mannatech even after it was proved (in Texas) that Mannatech was a fraudulent company ...

Trump is always walking back something he said that let his true liberal nature show. That’s nothing new.

Ben Carson isn’t my candidate so I don’t know why I would ask his campaign to do anything.
