Many people didn't think Donald Trump would get this far. A lot of people are saying he won't go any further.
Mr. Trump still holds the lead in most polls, but someone with more traditionally recognized political acumen will win the Republican nomination, say pundits.
"Businessman Donald Trump may be leading in opinion polls for the Republican presidential nomination, but bettors say someone else will be nominated next year," wrote Washington correspondent Jonathan Salant for NJ Advance Media. Mr. Salant was referring to British bookmakers.
Thus far, the race has been dominated by "outsiders," as both the Republican and Democratic side have seen thus-far successful candidates without the usual partisan stripes and accolades, The Christian Science Monitor reported. Sen. Bernie Sanders, who is an independent, is considered by some as the Democratic "outsider."(continued)

After hearing the Donald in Franklin, Tn. this afternoon, me thinks these fools are blowing hot air. Trump is in this to WIN this. The man doesn’t care for losers and day by day he continues to plow ahead. He’s not planning to go anywhere but to the top. Thank you, Mr. T. You and yours remain in our prayers.
That's odd.
I ain't voting for anyone BUT Trump, even if I got to write him in.
Well there’s the Stump for Trump sista’s and then there’s the Stomp on Trump pundits.
Power to the Peep’s this time around.
I’d like to think voters are moving to Trump because of his policies and leadership and not simply because the press is against him.
But one thing about it. As long as the press is attacking Trump, no body else is getting much air time.
The headline is wrong and untrue. It SHOULD say that pundits are HOPING Trump doesn’t win the nomination. I’d say they are hoping and PRAYING, but that would be a stretch.
A lot of Morris’ problem was that he, Rove and others believed the Gravis faux polling.
The one thing that concerns me about the pundits is projection. When they say things like
“You had better believe that GOP leaders will do everything in their power, mainly behind the scenes, to ensure that Trump is not their standard-bearer,” and
“When the primaries arrive early next year, the Trump vote will subdivide further among the other Republican tortoises.”, it suggests that either the fix is in or thy hope that the GOP plans to fix the system.
Either scenario spells the doom of the GOP as a viable political entity. What happens when the people vote for Trump or Carson and the delegates vote for GOPe (assuming the first ballot doesn’t insure the nomination)? All Hades will break lose.
Trump goes down, the Republican Party goes down with him.
At this point the pundits are just praying he won’t win.
“They know the establishment will soon release the gates of hell on Trump.”
If they do, they will overplay their hand.
