Summer is over. And Donald Trump is -- still -- at the top of the 2016 Republican primary field.
That makes lots and lots of Republicans with an eye on winning the White House in 2016 (or even 2020) very, very nervous. That unease -- and its origins -- are explained brilliantly in this paragraph, taken from a broader piece entitled "The GOP is Killing Itself," by former Bush administration official Pete Wehner:
The message being sent to voters is this: The Republican Party is led by people who are profoundly uncomfortable with the changing (and inevitable) demographic nature of our nation. The GOP is longing to return to the past and is fearful of the future. It is a party that is characterized by resentments and grievances, by distress and dismay, by the belief that America is irredeemably corrupt and past the point of no return. The American dream is dead, in the emphatic words of Mr. Trump.
Wehner, whose honesty and insight about his party and its prospects I've praised before in this space, nails a sentiment I've heard expressed by countless Republicans in the Summer of Trump. The concern is that a candidate like Trump is running a campaign based on the 1980 electorate, not the 2016 one....

We are now at a fork in the road: Do we continue the charade, or do we (as Yogi, bless his soul would say) Take it?
". . GOPe is saying, we have created an immigrant population that must be appeased, we have created a monster which must be fed. Informed conservatives know this is our last chance."
And informed whites need to know this is our last chance. We are 70% of the voting public. If we can get 65% of the white vote, as BobL points out, we will be victorious and won't need to pander to the various subgroups.
November 8, 2016 - America - To Be or Not to Be.
“The GOP is Killing Itself,”
No, “The GOPe is Killing Itself,”
No one will give a toot if Jeb blows away.
These people are so bubble-bound they have absolutely no clue what is really going on.
Facts:
1) Except in the very odd/exceptional election year of 1964, the Dems havent cracked 50% of the whites in a Presidential election since 1932.
2) Once the 64 election was over, the Dems understood that they would never win another Presidential election again unless the Republicans REALLY screwed up...or unless they changed the electorate in a dramatic way.
3) The Dems, courtesy of Bobby Kennedy who wrote the law, and Teddy Kennedy who pushed it in the Senate, passed the 1965 Immigration Act. That law dramatically reduced immigration from our then-traditional large sources of immigrants - England, Ireland, Holland, Germany, etc. - and replaced them with vast numbers of Turd Worlders...whom everyone knows vote around 80% for Dems, and will continue to do so for the rest of their lives, as new immigrants have traditionally done.
4) As a result of the 65 Act, and due to the Dems outright lying in 86 regarding an effective (or any) fence, there are now probably 30 - 40 million illegals in this nation. Note that the (probably low-ball) figure in 2005 was 11 million...we have 2-3 million come in every year, so simple math says that the number is actually somewhere between 31 and 41 million). If any substantial portion of these people ever become citizens, then the Dems will have accomplished a complete shift of the electorate, and will be virtually invincible on the national level. Every state will become like California, both politically and economically - which is to say, overwhelming Dem and broke. But at least if you dont like California now, you can leave for a better place without much trouble - where are you going to go if EVERY state is like that?
5) Every Republican, and every Conservative voter MUST UNDERSTAND that if such a state of affairs comes to be, NO OTHER ISSUE WILL MATTER AT ALL, because we will ALWAYS AND FOREVER lose on those issues. Immigration is THE issue of this election, and this election is as critical as the 1860 election was - and for the same reason, because it will determine whether this nation continues on as it has existed in the past, or becomes a new and unrecognizable entity that simply occupies the same geographic territory.
Please wake up, and help others to do so by sending them this post (or recommending Adios America to them). It really is THAT important.
“The Republican primary voters are people who are profoundly indifferent to demographics. We believe in the rule of law, which is why we oppose illegal immigration. But we also believe all government actions should be race-blind, which is why we oppose government-mandated affirmative action. We are the people whom MLK was talking about in his I have a dream, speech, and the democrats are still the ones fighting against that dream.”
Then expect to lose BIG in the future because non-whites don’t buy into the above and will be the majority in the future.
Does the WAPO employ anyone that has common sense? I truly can’t remember reading a posting from that rag that was not false and laughable.
“The message being sent to voters [by Trump] is this: The Republican Party is led by people who are profoundly uncomfortable with the changing (and inevitable) demographic nature of our nation.”
No the problem is that the Republican Party is led by people who are totally fine with turning (more) of America into a combination of Mexico and Nigeria.
Cruz would be my second choice after Trump.
Well then the White vote has a choice to make I guess, just accept the cess pool the country has become and vote, but why the hell if this article is true, should they vote for Republicans, you might as well go full hog and vote for Hillary if that is what the country wants and has become.
I am a dinosaur,65 ,so I for one will go down swinging and vote For Ted Cruz, the rest can go to HELL!
It really is...there will come a time when they will actually neuter us - they’re just haven’t gotten there yet.
Trump has good security.
How many different ways will we be called racist, bigot homophobes today?
I think it is important to distinguish their goals.
The difference between the National Socialism of the Nazis, and International Socialists, is that the former are patriotic and embrace their nations.
International Socialists, such as are found in the Socialist International and the US Democrats, an organization of political parties around the world, hate the idea of nations, and want them eliminated in favor of economic blocs run by an unelected, one world government.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialist_International
What multinational corporations and the Republican leadership espouse is Internationalist Corporatocracy. Similar in many ways to International Socialists, the Corporatists find much common ground with them.
But while motivated by profits, they see socialism as a way to pay many of their expenses. For example, socialized medicine (theoretically) keeps their employees healthy, and is paid for by taxpayer dollars. The same with socialized retirement. And like the socialists, they want open borders so they can pay the least for employees.
So the Corporatists are more than happy to go along with socialism, though their end game, while only rarely depicted in books or movies, is much like that found in the original movie “Rollerball”. Not the ridiculous idealism found in socialist theories.
This is the #cuckservative GOP in a nutshell.
Nothing is inevitable. The overthrow of our civilization and our people is certainly not inevitable.
But the GOPe has sold out to "inevitable change" before it happens, even to the point of trying to hasten the change in the hopes that the conquerors will look favorably upon them.
Rubbish.
This is a war for the hearts and minds of "non-whites". So long as they see themselves as "non-whites", liberalism wins, and America will become just like the hellholes they fled to come here. If we see them as Americans and convince them to assimilate and be simply Americans, they will become just like the Irish, the Italians, the Chinese, and other formerly disadvantaged groups that for the most part became Americans who uphold American values. I reject the idea that skin tone is destiny, particularly with the rapid increase in interracial marriage. We really are a melting pot; it's just taking longer this time around because we are overwhelmed by the flood of immigrants.
Race is far more than “skin tone”. The idea that “race is just skin color” is one of the biggest lies liberals promote.

As for “Hispanics” which are the majority of illegal immigrants, they have NEVER voted for conservative principles. Not in Mexico, Central America, South America or in America. Same with blacks. AFAIK, they have never voted for conservative in any country they exist whether they are majorities or minorities.
