I suspect you’re right. There’s Carson, too, to help split the conservative vote and make the GOP look diverse—but like the others (e.g., Huck, Santorum), his ego may not have needed a nudge to run.
Cancer or not, he's obviously unprepared or unable to respond rapidly in the glare of the media spotlight. He needs to get his act together if he's to have any hope of making a dent in the months ahead. This is surprising, given that he's a 3-1/2 term governor. There are some who think of him as an accomplished governor. I think he got lucky - he became governor just as oil and gas were coming out of their 15-year funk. Time will tell with respect to whether Texas's economy has truly diversified away from oil and gas. Note that even with lower oil and gas prices, Texas still has, in its vast reserves, the equivalent of found treasure.
huge disappointment in 2012 and a complete non-entity this time around...
To give benefit of doubt, Perry may not be dumb. He is showing signs of Alzeimers in beginning stage. Not his fault. I have seen it in many people even younger than Perry.

This presents a bold opportunity for Cruz or Walker to step up with a
much better policy.
If they have the guts to do so.
His comments about Trump as a “cancer” were vile. I don’t have any sympathy for Perry looking stupid when he’s not reading a script.
you’re quoting Obama!
Save a Pretzel for the Gas Jets!!!
You are right. Perry did the most vicious verbal attack on Trump, unprovoked. This is from a politician who received used to beg Trump for campaign donations in the past. He was obviously commanded by the GOPe to take Trump out.
His teleprompter glasses must’ve been on the fritz.
“Perry did the most vicious verbal attack on Trump, unprovoked.”
Yes. Incessantly. He went on and on about Trump being a “cancer”.
A serious candidate does not make his campaign about over the top attacks on another candidate.
No offense, but we don’t need to be giving MSNBC any extra web traffic.
He should run out quickly and get a pair of these:
Dang what more could they do? Who was it? They give BO everything he wants as it is. I’d say they are working with BO just fine. Deal killer.
You have to watch the whole clip to understand what happened. Perry was right when he said there is a complete disconnect between congress & the voters. Plus we have a p_resident that bypasses congress at every opportunity.
That being said, his overall performance pretty much sucked.
If he shaves his head like she did, he can join the circus.
