RED OAK, Iowa Sen. Ted Cruz wound his way through the small towns and rolling hills of western Iowa last week, doing the gruntwork of retail campaigning: shaking hands, posing for photos, giving stump speechesand, most importantly: making entreaties for support in a state that could determine the trajectory of his presidential campaign.
Whether we win or lose, this race will be decided by the men and women gathered here, he said last Friday to a group of mostly older people sitting on folding chairs in a conference room.
Iowas first-in-the nation caucuses are often a high-stakes event for presidential campaigns and this year the state is especially critical for Cruz, a stalwart conservative in a crowded field. The Texas Republicans uncompromising stances seem designed to appeal to the conservative base that dominates the state GOP, as well as the states heavy concentration of evangelical Christians....

LOL...says who...MSNBC? Have you looked at the internals of the polling?
Hillary won’t get 47%. Even her Husband got 43%. She is not her husband.
Thanks!
I don’t remember! It was’nt Trump was it?
Memory is the 2nd thing which goes.
And I can’t remember the first! :)
MSNBC is the place I go to when I am feeling too exuberant and need to come down back into the basement.
Today’s Supreme Court discussion will draw the lines more clearly and draw the line in the sand as we hear more of what other canidates are saying on this wicked discussion.
The choice could not be more clear as to whom is the clear conservative canidate of choice, Ted Cruz.
The Ted Cruz haters will be frustrated to tie themselves up in some kind of pretzle logic when they try to evade and try to get around this one when Ted Cruz has come out strongly against gay marriage while some other canidates fold up like a wet noodle including Donald Trump and Rand Paul.
Ask the trolls why have the other canidates hightailed out of Dodge like Donald Trump, Rand Paul and caved into the gaygestopo, and Ted Cruz is the only viable candidate that has faced Goliath ?
It’s either ? Or , there is no such middle ground on this issue.
Yep, I have asked. The Trumpers, Walkerbots, etc never answer...
Can hardly wait for the polls taken soon after the first debate.
If Cruz still remains out of top five, what will be the next excuse?
There are no Ted Cruz “haters” on FR. There are only “skeptics” who are not sure Cruz is connecting with majority of republicans. That is why he is not in top 5 in polls published on Real Clear Politics. May be Cruz will do better in general by attracting more leftist and independent voters.
Cruz is already in the top 5. Just look at the people still trolling him on here. If he wasn’t doing well, nobody would care
Yes, Cruz is in 1st place on FR. But Cruz is in 7th place among likely republican primary voters.
Cruz must win in primary elections, being popular on FR may not be enough to get nominated.
LOL...keep telling yourself that. Cruz is losing in LV polls...of Republicans, right?
Not hardly. The polls of the grassroots are true voters...one man is winning those.
I hope you will still lol after results of Iowa, NH & SC primaries are out. May be those grassroots are not enough!
You may want to start working on some good excuse why Cruz could not win those primaries. You certainly have lots of time to prepare lol.
After yesterday’s unholy choice by the Supreme Court the herd should thin out for conservatives to choose a candidate.
Marco Rubio sure didn’t help himself by saying that it’s law now and we should abide by it.
LOL...
What is your problem with Cruz. I don’t expect to win NH...only RINO’s win there. I think we will do fine in IA and win SC and FLA.
BTW, it is about money too...no other candidate except Bush has the money or the ground game to compete with Cruz.
I hope you will be back on here when Cruz does better than you think....
