My contempt highlights my opinion of your disingenuous attempts to change the subject away from the fact that Carson is NOT a friend of gun owners or the right to keep and bear arms.
I am sorry, I do not want every rich kook in my neighborhood to own cannons. It serves no useful purpose. Possession of arms is important to defend your home and family from criminals. It is not meant to fight the US Army. In places like Chicago & New York city, poor people are most subject to being victims of home invaders and robberies. And those are exact places where it is very difficult to own a firearm. That needs to change.
It is fine to have lot of candidates running.
However if conservatives have any chance, they must unite behind one candidate after first 6 primaries.
Apparently you don't want them to own semi-auto rifles either. As for the purpose, it serves the purpose of the original intent of the 2nd amendment.
Whatever arms are deemed adequate to defend home and family is just fine and dandy with me. No one needs cannons to do that.

Yes, I am definitely against rich kooks to be able to buy cannons for home. Rifles, shot guns, hand guns, magazines with a dozen bullets, swords, bows and arrows, knives, numchuks, brass knuckles, are justt fine with me. Basically all defensive weapons are good in my book.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to aim a cannon in the direction of an agile burglar/home invader? I recommend a short barreled 22 gauge shotgun. Much more effective in home defense.
Your recommendation is a 22 gage shotgun. Do you actually own one of these? What brand? Do you own a firearm at all? Just curious. My personal recommendation for a home defense weapon is an UZI. Or if you have a LOT of money an H&K MP5-K

Yes, I believe the purpose of 2nd Amendment is to forbid disarming the citizenry ala Jews in Hitler’s Germany, or citizens of any country ruled by a dictator. It is NOT meant to fight the US Army.
