And if there is one candidate who is the anti-Hillary, it is Marco Rubio. Let me list the reasons.
Youth
This is the most obvious contrast one that Rubio is pushing to the hilt. Rubio is young. Clinton is not. At CPAC, when asked to say the first word that came to mind when he thought of Clinton, he said, "Yesterday."
Historic-ness
You can already hear the left-wing inevitability noise machine: Oh, how historic it would be to elect the first female president! But of course, there is also something historic about Rubio's candidacy: he would be the first Latino president of the United States.
Wealth
Clinton is running a populist campaign. She is also quite rich. She got rich through is there a polite way to say this? her husband's post-presidential influence-peddling.
Policy
Republican Party's single biggest predicament is that it is perceived as no longer caring about the concerns of the middle class. In this respect, Rubio is exactly the sort of candidate the party needs: a true conservative who nonetheless understands the GOP's greatest weakness. His ambitious reforms his tax plan and its child tax credit, his wage subsidies plan, his proposals for higher education are all aimed squarely at this problem, as is his opportunity rhetoric. On both the politics and the merits, this is the right response.

Rubio = Back-stabbing Gang of 8 RINO weasel sellout.
Full Disclosure: My preference currently is Walker, Cruz, Paul, Rubio in that order. This can change as campaign evolves, debates happen, polls are released, gaffe’s take place, etc.
That’s my order of preference now, too. I had Rubio ahead of Paul until Paul did a masterful job of hitting the Dems on abortion. Yes, things can and will change as things transpire.
Which is why he is unlikely to climb to the top of my personal list, along with some other major concerns. Rubio is very squashy on amnesty issues. More so than others. While no other candidates are for deporting all illegals, Bush is the worst and Rubio was for amnesty before he is now against it.
Many are drinking the RubioRand Koolaid..
Cruz for now. Pass on the rest.
It would not be a difficult exercise to come up with a sizable list of significant policy issues where there is little-to-no daylight between Rubio and Hillary. They are both status quo candidates and the status quo sucks.
His “his wage subsidies plan...”??? A federal subsidy to low paying employers? The more I learn about Rubio, the more I think the GOP establishment ‘club’ is telling him what to do, and the more I dislike the guy. As if his whole gang of 8 thing wasn’t enough of a deal breaker already.
Will Watch the debates, watching funding, watching gaffe’s, and watching ongoing polls. Whoever looks like a winner gets my vote. Currently governor Walker is at top, with senator Cruz 2nd. Top priority is to defeat Hillary.
Sorry Marco, opposing Hillary AND supporting illegal alien infestation simultaneously is clearly a null choice.
Is this a joke?
Rubio is 5 months younger than the “Latino” Ted Cruz, who is the son of a minister, whose policies blow away Hillary AND Rubio.
Yeah, I am not crazy about Rubio’s many policies either. It is highly unlikely he will climb to the top of my list. But I will watch his debate performance. His poll numbers are not good as of now. Keep in mind also the electorate is mostly ignorant of policy issues. Appearances and perception can win elections these days with 24-7 TV.
Cruz's 500% increase in H1-B visas isn't any better, and it hits closer to home for me.
I would go with Cruz at this point but your right, they say in politics 1 year can be an eternity, and Nov 2016 is even further into the future, relatively speaking. But it’s true, one thing Rubio Cruz, Walker, Paul have in common, they must, and will run on a much stronger, more effective platform than “we’re not Hilary”. As the late Bob Grant would say, you cannot run nobody against somebody, no matter how unpopular, unqualified, and/or incompetent they are.
how to say it without mincing any words:
rubio has proven himself to be a bald-faced liar and a traitor to conservatism and independent conservatives—both of which he used to grab power ruthlessly to feed the d.c. machine and the chamber of commerce. i’ll never support him again. too bad. he really could have been something else.
That huge increase on H-1B visa’s favored by senator Cruz is not good policy. Also, IMO, the senator needs to smile more when on TV. Jack Welch said that today on Fox news.
You stated that PERFECTLY!
B.S.!
As I said in a previous post, Rubio is unlikely to be my first choice. But campaigns are just starting. Gaffe’s by any candidate can and will happen. I want to see a lot more before reaching final conclusions.
Very true, the 2016 field is much better than 2012. I like that we have a deep field. Unlike democRats who are stuck with yesterday’s Hillary.
