The New York Times published these excellent visual representations of yesterdays election results, including analyses based upon before and after polling. And they are pretty stunning.
Results on the 35 Senate races:
The Democrats won each seat they were expected to win, as did Republicans, including Louisiana, which will have a run-off on December 6th, as both candidates were under 50%. Of the 7 toss-up races, Republicans won 6, their only loss being in New Hampshire. Fifteen states held no Senate election. Net change of +7 for the Republicans.
Results on the House races:

I think the U.S. House map is even more illuminating than the U.S. Senate map.

Dang, they’re going to change our color back to blue so that when people look at it 20 years from now, they’ll think all that red is for the Dems! LOL

What will happen when all us old White men die off?Asian men and women will join the remaining whites and keep the conservative movement alive.

What will happen when all us old White men die off? Check out how the 18 to 29 year olds voted in the chart at post 4. Republicans are up two percentage points in that demographic over the 2010 election.
There's hope.

Sounds like the statehouse hit was even worse for democrats. My liberal cousins over in Kalamazoo are screaming bloody murder over the fact that they now have a republican state senator.

That's one of the surest indicators that the American people are fighting back. Dems are experiencing big reversals at the state and local level all over the country.
Can you believe that Illinois and Maryland elected Republican Governors???

See the red in California in the Rep map above, that is the real California, Conservatives in most of the state stuck with Libs in the big cities on the coast, most of whom moved here from out of state.

Sigh that blue spot on the edge of TN is where I live and its run like Detroit! Don't feel like you're alone. See that blue spot in the middle of North Texas? That's where I live. Dallas County.
May not be nearly as bad as Detroit, but that's no thanks to the libs who are trying to make it that way.

I watched John “Magic Fingers” King on CNN. He showed three maps last night that were very illuminating. The 2008 results, very, very blue, the 2010, the red returning, and then the prospective 2014, where it was dominated by the right.
Here is the CNN map:
http://www.cnn.com/election/2014/results/race/house?hpt=hp_inthenews
Th reason I am posting it, because I can’t believe that southern NV, west TX and south FL is deep red.

"There's hope. " Well.... yes there is.
I just remembered that I voted for McGovern in 1972. So...there's lots of hope.

Fortunately, here in Texas, the liberal cities aren't yet populated enough to overwhelm the outlying conservative counties.
