Hollywood director and liberal activist Rob Reiner told talk-show host Larry King that the Tea Party is like the terrorist group Hamas, because apparently both groups are extreme and cannot be negotiated with, and the only solution is to make them go away or eliminate them.
[Y]ou cant negotiate with that, you have to say either Hamas goes away and the Palestinian authority takes over all that region and deal with some kind of honest broker here, and create the two-state solution, said Reiner.
Drawing a parallel with the Tea Party, he said, anytime youre dealing with an extreme group, you cannot negotiate with them, and the way to do it is to eliminate it. With the Tea Party, you have to go through political thing, you have to wait till 2020 to redistrict, but that is really tough stuff.

On the Aug. 14 edition of Politicking with Larry King, the host asked Reiner, Whats to do about the Gaza situation, and Israel?
Reiner said, Well, there again, youve got a horrible situation where you have an extreme faction, the Hamas, that controls Gaza, that is written into their playbook, the destruction of Israel, the destruction of every Jew on the planet.
You cant negotiate with that, he said, you have to say either Hamas goes away and the Palestinian authority takes over all that region and deal with some kind of honest broker here, and create the two-state solution.
The Palestinians turned down the ability to have their own state in 1948 when Israel was formed, so clearly, Hamas, and again, the virulent faction of a, really, uh, group can control everything, said the Academy Award nominee.
Reiner continued, You look at the Congress right now in the United States, youve got a strong Tea Party group controlling the whole country, because they have a gridlock, they have a gridlock, stranglehold on Boehner. Boehner cant make a move, and so for that reason, nothing gets brought up in the Congress.
So anytime youre dealing with an extreme group, you cannot negotiate with them, and they way to do it is to eliminate it, said Reiner. With the Tea Party, you have to go through a political thing, you have to wait till 2020 to redistrict, but, uh, that is really tough stuff.
The U.S. State Department designated Hamas a terrorist organization in 1997. The Tea Party stands for Taxed Enough Already and sprang up from the American grassroots in 2010 largely in opposition to Obamacare, and has broadened to include issues such limited government, fewer government regulations, and adherence to the Constitution.
Reiner was nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award for the 1992 film, A Few Good Men. He gained national attention early on as an actor in All in the Family, and some of his more well-known movies include The Jerk, This is Spinal Tap, The Princess Bride, Sleepless in Seattle, The Bucket List, and The Wolf of Wall Street.
Reiner is a liberal and has been very outspoken on his political views for many years.
It’s Evil,
not stupid,
not naive .
A national divorce could stop all that, but they won’t allow it.
“he said, anytime youre dealing with an extreme group, you cannot negotiate with them, and the way to do it is to eliminate it.”
I’ve been arguing this fact about the left for many years.
I love Mel Brooks, probably the best pick up story I ever heard was from how he met his wife Anne Bancroft in the early 1960s. Back then she looked like Cindy Crawford in her prime, just insanely hot looking, but this little guy Mel Brooks was the only guy who had the guts to really pursue her and put himself all out. They said that is what the movie “The Graduate” really came from.
If the Tea Party was Hamas meat head’s head would be on a spike. The Tea Party is generally made up of normal, decent, moral, just , and patriotic people. Everything democrats and liberals are not.
Stifle yourself, Meathead.
Since when do Marxists not love Hamas? He most likely has donated to them.
Pray America wakes up
Meathead was a fairly accomplished actor. It’s when he goes “ political” like this that we can see why he got his name “ meathead”. What an idiot. If the republicans were anything like the Hamas terror gang, they’d have bombed meathead’s mansion long ago. (Thank heaven that’s not the case.)
No need to eliminate meathead, he is so insignificant now, why bother
,,,he has the microphone.
The time us coming upon us to make a stand and that will neither be simple nor blood free. We may attempt to avoid the ultimate confrontation that is being thrust upon us, but the choice we have is to “take the easy path”, or “take the painful, desolate, ignoble, disparate and disgusting path”.
One path leads to a lengthy period of peace, stability and prosperity. The other leads to a temporary path of uncertainty, misgivings, apprehensions and suspicion (I know, all of the above are the same thing, but that's my point), that will eventually lead to violence that will rip this country to shreds.
It's not particularly difficult to see which path is the preferred, IMO, although not “easy”.
Pick your poison, IMO.
Dear Rob Reiner,
Or you could just learn to live with our existence, moron. We’re not exactly shooting rockets at you liberal idiots.
P.S. I loved The Princess Bride, great film.
P.P.S You’re still a moron.
he’s right!
controlled govt spending, sound economic policies and smaller govt are just like beheading small children
/sarc
100% moron. typical lib.
You see how liberals now constantly refer to any conservatives or groups as “extreme” This is how they subconsciously plant this idea in voters mind.
Geez Rob, accusing Hamas of supporting lower taxes and less government? I wouldnt insult them like that. You know what happens when Hamas gets upset?
Over 300 Bills sent by the House to the Senate have never seen the light of day thanks to Harry Reid.
Gridlock, talk to Harry you Meathead.
There is a parallel (or mirror image) between the two. The Tea Party is on the side of absolute good, while Hamas is on Obama’s side, the side of absolute evil. I can understand why someone with limited moral understanding would see the two absolutes as indistinguishable.
