The political strategist for the re-election campaign of New Mexicos Gov. Susana Martinez (R) reportedly confronted on Saturday a group of pro-life demonstrators in Albuquerque by lashing out, You are all pieces of [expletive]!
Several members of the pro-life organization Protest ABQ identified the individual rebuking them with vulgar language as Jay McCleskey, chief political strategist for Martinez, who is seeking a second term as New Mexicos governor.
Writing at Operation Rescue, pro-life activist Tara Shaver, who is pregnant herself, wrote, The pro-life community has been asking Gov. Martinez what she is willing to do to stop pre-born child killing in New Mexico.
We have been completely ignored until today, said Shaver, who was at the Protest ABQ public awareness campaign with her husband and children when McCleskey lashed out.
The pro-life community in Albuquerque continues to expose Martinezs apparently inconsistent position on abortion. While Martinez claims to be pro-life, she has not addressed the fact that abortion remains unrestricted through all nine months of pregnancy in New Mexico....

*”Because the GOP now supports abortion.”*
Are you sure? I thought they were firming up the pro-life position, after the 2012 debacle.
Their position and their actions are two entirely different things. they have all sorts of positions in the party platform that go ignored daily as well.
The truth of the matter is that many GOP pols have exception clauses for political expedience. In cases of this, in cases of that. A dead baby is still a dead baby. And a baby killed after a rape is still as dead as one killed by a ‘loving mother’.
Now of course we all know that. But my point is that the GOP pols very often say one thing on abortion and do another. Planned Barrenhood remains funded. Their primary business is killing. Lots of Pols scream about protecting the unborn and then cave on budgets. To paraphrase Dave Mustane of Megadeth, Killing is their business and the GOP keeps funding their way to more.
The party itself is responsible because the heads of that party make the exceptions and cave on budget items while making excuses as to why.
So yes. The GOP very much supports abortions and their actions of supporting abortion trump their words denying it.
You already said that, it is why I posted post 21, and the link to the January reaffirmation of their pro-life position.
You asked if I was sure. I was ;)
“Is this the same Martinez a few Freepers were promoting? Gack!”
She seems to have some really questionable people working for her. A big disappointment.
Sure looks like it - and that abomination in Mississippi......Repubs are dead to me now - it's either a 3rd party, or force of arms....
why do so many GOP seem to lack or lose control over these flawed idiots they hire as staffers and aides?
Sadly, Mrs. McCleskey didn’t abort Jay!
Gov. Martinezs campaign manager shouts profanities at pro-lifers
This is post #48:
Could he have handled it differently? Yes, but it sounds to me like this group was looking to provoke some reaction they could then use. The story as presented by this group does not tell the whole story.
Seeing and agreeing with that explanation, I also agree with Carthego delenda est that McCleskey is not helping Susana's re-election campaign any as he is the source of irritation with many that reflects badly on her.

We figured he was annoyed at something, it is what came out of his heart when he was angry, that was revealing.
Sometimes someone blurts out something that can’t be taken back, because once revealed, it can’t be rehidden.
