Ill. Gov.’s Supporter says Republican Voters are KKK Members
The Washington Free Beacon ^ | June 12, 2014 | Staff

A leading supporter of Illinois Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn said that Republican voters are backers of the Ku Klux Klan and members of militias, according to local reports.

Outspoken Chicago Pastor Walter “Slim” Coleman made the controversial remarks while standing beside Quinn, who was present to receive the reverend’s endorsement.

Quinn’s support for divisive and racist rhetoric has been causing his campaign problems. The governor’s campaign came under fire in April after it tweeted messages urging backers to read an article comparing black Republican voters to Jews who collaborated with the Nazis.

Quinn stood by silently as Coleman compared Republicans to KKK members and called Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner “evil.”

“That’s an unlikely voter that began way back in 1961 and ’62 with the Ku Klux Klan, that grew up through the militias, that came outta the militias and, and, and—came in to call themselves conservatives, and then came in to call themselves Republican,” Coleman said, according to radio station WBEZ.

“That’s a movement that brings an evil that we have got to stop,” Coleman reportedly said to applause from those in attendance. “Our fight—our fight is not—our fight is not with flesh and blood. Our fight is with powers and principalities. And there’s an evil—there’s an evil that a candidate may seem that he’s harmless is gonna raise up in this state and we’re not gonna let it happen!”

The remarks quickly sparked a backlash.

However, Quinn refused to address the controversy. Instead, he “disappeared out the back door” of the Chicago hotel where the event took place, according to WBEZ.

As the backlash intensified, a Quinn campaign spokesman was forced to address the controversy

“We couldn’t disagree more strongly, and the governor believes this rhetoric has no place in politics,” a campaign spokesperson told WBEZ.

Quinn has been suffering in the polls lately, trailing Rauner by at least 10 points, according to the most recent polls.

If I recall correctly the KKK was never stronger than they were in Illinois during the Wilson administration when Wilson was using them as political activists the way Obama uses OFA today.

Nazis were and are socialists -- it's embedded in their name and creed. The National Socialists of then and now stand for abortion, sodomy and gun registration. The National Socialists were then and are today against God and Israel. The National Socialists are more widely known today as the party of hussein obama, viz., Democrat.

Right - the KKK was formed in the South by Democrat who still want to be slave owners. They hate Catholics, Jews and Republicans. Also African-Americans. They’re anti-Civil Rights and pro-Segregation.

The Democrat party supports the minimum wage and unionism, both of which shackle workers into a form of slavery. As it was then, so it is now, liberty and freedom are counter to the Democrat platform.

The guy is technically right. After all, no member of the Republican Party in Illinois is NOT a member of the Militia. Article XII of the Constitution of the state of Illinois deals with the Militia and states (in part) “SECTION 1. MEMBERSHIP. The State militia consists of all able-bodied persons residing in the State except those exempted by law.”

Not all members of the Democrat Party in Illinois are members of the militia since they do not kick people out of the party who are convicted of felonies and are therefore exempted by law from being a member of the militia.

August 2006

On the Chicago Tribune’s front page today is the story of an illegal immigrant who’s taken refuge in a Chicago church to avoid deportation. The headline is “Act of faith, defiance” and the article includes a color photo of the woman and her son. Yesterday’s Tribune coverage on the event noted: “The church’s pastor, the Rev. Walter Coleman, said his congregation decided to offer Arellano refuge after praying about her plight.. . . ‘She represents the voice of the undocumented, and we think it’s our obligation, our responsibility, to make a stage for that voice to be heard,’ he said.”

Walter Coleman? Could that be Walter “Slim” Coleman, a longtime left wing activist? Yes, it is.

And what’s interesting is the Tribune makes no mention of the Reverend’s extensive background, much of it documented by the Tribune over the years.

A self-described community organizer, Slim was on the board of a group getting Federal money back in the 70s to provide free lunches to hundreds of poor children each day. Tribune writer Jeff Lyon reported in August of 1979 that an investigation disclosed the real participation was about 70 children a day.

This experience no doubt helped Coleman in becoming a key adviser to Chicago’s Mayor Harold Washington. A Tribune piece in August of 1984 carried the charges of an alderman that Chicago “agreed to give $70,000 to a health clinic operated by the Heart of Uptown Coalition headed by Slim Coleman, a Washington supporter.”

Emma Lozano, Walter “Slim” Coleman are married

Emma Lozano (of Chicago’s Pueblo Sin Fronteras/Centro Sin Fronteras) is married to the Reverend Walter “Slim” Coleman. The latter is the pastor of the church where Elvira Arellano has sought “refuge” rather than abiding by a deportation order. Arellano and Lozano have together called for a “campaign of resistance” to prevent deportations of other illegal aliens.

Elvira’s supporter, Pastor Walter “Slim” Coleman, “a longtime left wing activist,” justifies her breaking U.S. immigration laws. Coleman and his wife Emma Lozano, head of the immigration rights group Centro Sin Fronteras, seem not to question the use of human shields in their cause to undermine U.S. immigration laws.

Coleman and others claim with no documentation, “This nation’s unfair economic policies have impoverished the Caribbean and Latin America, forcing people to travel north in order to survive.” Rev. Coleman never bothers to ask why there are no jobs in Mexico for Elvira to do. He never asks what Carlos Slim Helú, a Mexican and one of the richest men in the world, is doing to create more jobs in Mexico.
