Jeb Bush is thinking about running for president in 2016. Like, really thinking about it.
He's the headliner at an event hosted by mega donor Sheldon Adelson in Las Vegas on Thursday. He was actively involved in Rep. David Jolly's special election victory in Florida earlier this month. And he is breaking with his party's orthodoxy on Common Core.
So, as Jeb mulls a bid whose advice does he seek? Who does he trust to give him an unvarnished view of what the race might look like? Well, everyone even close to Jeb insists that he largely keeps his own counsel. (People close to politicians love to insist that no, for real, their guy/gal is not one of those people who is poll-tested and consultant approved at all times.) And they note that there is no formal or organized effort to think about the race or prepare for it. Those caveats aside, there are a handful of people who, in conversations with Jebworld (anything can be made a "world" by the way), quite clearly make up his political inner circle at the moment. If Bush decides to run, this group will almost certainly expand and the people we spoke to were quick to note that the Jeb Bush alumni association is vast and supportive....

If Jeb Bush is the nominee the Demonrats will run against George W. Bush just like they did in 2008, and even in 2012. Come to think of it, the ‘rats will run against GWB no matter who the GOP nominee is in 2016.
Ill vote for you.
Jeb talks to the ghost of Terry Schiavo.
Thank you... I guess I’ll have to start making campaign videos.
The first guy Jeb Bush should kick off his campaign is Jeb Bush.
Does Dough Boy Jeb want the Oval Office so he can further speed up Mexico Merger?
TERRI. SHIAVO.
Murdered by Jeb Bush.
He was Governor of Florida. She was being murdered in broad daylight, slowly.
He REQUESTED others not to kill her. When they ignored him, he cowered under his desk, afraid to carry out his duty—which was to send police and/or troops to save her from her murderers.
Jeb refuses, of course, to acknowledge his cowardice and his guilt.
He is unfit for any public office.
Me too
Agreed—and I have no idea who you are.
I’d vote for you over Jeb on the strength of your tagline alone :-)
:D - Thank you.
Whoo-hoo
It looks like I've got an exponential increase in constituents; if I can keep this up winning the 2016 Presidential elections will be quite doable! ;)
The next losing GOP candidate has been chosen.
This would be the worst possible choice, just as Romney was last time. Romney invented Obamacare. Jeb has the same last name as a derangement syndrome—and it’s not curable.
The issues are also a problem, but just on the optics we’ve already lost with this guy.
He allowed her to die. I would love to see her case come back to hurt his chances.
Jeb Bush seriously underestimates the opposition to Common Core amongst conservatives.
It will be a deal-breaker for many voters.
He also signed the bill earlier that specifically changed the language of the Advanced Directive law in Florida that allowed the state to kill her. Yes, the Florida Congress might have been able to override his veto, but he didn’t even try to make a stand against the repercussions of the bill.
Can we add ‘no more Obamas’ to the tee shirt and nip that dynasty at the bud?
Sheldon Adelson will be backing another loser.
