With Gov. Jerry Brown (D-CA) joining Elizabeth Warren and other in deciding not to run in 2016, it looks like Hillary Clinton will have no serious challenger for the Democratic nomination in 2016.
According to the LA Times, California Gov. Jerry Brown has ruled out another run for the Democratic nomination in 2016, No, thats not in the cards. Unfortunately. With his impressive record as governor, Brown would have presenting a serious and interesting challenge to Hillary Clinton. However, it is looking more and more like Democrats have decided to clear the field for Hillary in 2016.
Last month, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) also ruled out running in 2016, Im not running for president and I plan to serve out my term I pledge to serve out my term. I am not running for president. I am working as hard as I can to be the best possible senator I can be. I am working as hard as I can to be the best the possible senator that I can be and to fight for the things that I promised during my campaign that I would fight for. I am fighting for bank accountability. I am fighting hard to help rebuild Americas middle class.
There are no top tier Democrats who want to challenge Hillary Clinton in 2016. Maryland Gov. Martin OMalley said that he wouldnt run if Clinton does, and former Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer is tinkering with the idea, but he seems far from serious about a run. Hillary Clinton will likely get a primary challenger, but it will be a no-chancer like Dennis Kucinich.
The 2008 Democratic primary was good for both candidates and the Democratic Party. Clinton and Obama pushed each other, and they became better candidates because of it. The reason why Obamas campaign against McCain seemed so easy was because beating Clinton was that hard. Hillary Clinton will be a great 2016 candidate, but all Democrats would be better served if she had a serious challenger.
It is easy to understand why Brown, Warren, or any other top Democrat wouldnt run. Clinton will be a formidable candidate with deep support within the party, and a gigantic campaign war chest. It would take a candidate of Barack Obamas caliber to defeat her, and Elizabeth Warren is no Obama.
However, it would be best for the party if Clinton was not allowed to veer too far away from the partys leftward shift. Clinton could use a serious challenger, but it looks like no one is willing to step up to the challenge.
If the GOP gets its way, there will be one. I just hope we get our crap together and stop them in time. But I keep seeing comments here that mirror the Romney voting.
If the furthest of right wing sites still has people willing to compromise yet again and vote for another lib repub, we just need to all go home now. because the rest of the Right will embrace one easily.
We’re all assuming that Secretary Clinton will live long enough to see 2016. Have you seen her lately? Two women, neither of which has any discernible executive experience (i.e., governor, CEO, mayor, military officer, etc.)? Well, it did work for Barry and Joe, so why not?
“President Aunt Esther. Look out sucka.

haha, I love it. I wonder what cabinet post the Kingfish will get.
I don’t think the Dems would run 2 women.
I’m guessing Hillary goes with DeVal (Baraq Jr.) Patrick or Cory (Baraq III) Booker. With the unspoken promise that he’ll be POTUS in 2025. Gotta keep those votes from the ‘hood at 105% of registered voters.
Which is why they had to destroy Krispy Kreme now, rather than wait.
Hillary:
The kiss of death.
A lot of FReepers were saying ole BJ wouldn’t last long after he left office, and (with the help of some excellent cardiologists) he’s still around.
It seems like old leftys go on forever re: Soros
Will Huma be first lady?
He does not know where he is.
Of course not.
That is how the communists free up their voters to vote for gop-es and RINOS in the Republican open primaries.
There is no real choice to make for the communist nominee so voting in a commie primary is irrelevant and therefore unnecessary.
This is exactly where they will go here in Texas and they STILL will not close the primaries. .
It's all about politics i.e. will this person vote my way.
Obama, Hillary, Fauxcahontas. Such inexperienced marginally intelligent people. But they vote the "right" way and are good at public speaking i.e. hoodwinking. And so they get elected.
Obama won in 2012 because:
Romney made an idiotic remark about the 47%.
Almost on the same level as Akin & Mourdock comments on women getting pregnant by rape.
Romney could not attack Obamacare, which is Romney’s illegitimate child.
People liked hearing president Zero was going to wars in Iraq & Afghanistan.
Zero gave 800 Billion dollars in stimulus money to his cohorts in unions & green energy and other contributors,
something Romney could not match. A lot of that money was
plowed back into campaign cash for Zero.
47 million on food stamps is a formidable force to contend with. Big food corporations love this program. Hard to run against Santa Clause.
Some Christians have bigoted attitudes towards Mormons and stayed home on election day.
Hilda has none of the advantages of incumbent Zero.
Even the Chicago democrat machine can not anoint Hilda.
I hate to be cynical, but for awhile now felt that the only way to beat them is to do the same. Groom conservatives to act as moderate-left candidates - and infiltrate their ranks. Run candidate in their primaries to disrupt them. I would not be surprised a bit to find out that world socialists/communists have been working for decades to infiltrate the Republican party.
Unfortunately, if you can conceive of it, it has to be considered.
..waiting to see who the Dems find as their ‘Ross Perot’ vote splitter of Republican votes. You KNOW it’s gonna happen.
Slow-Joe is OUT? How sad......
Don't know where Kingfish will end up, but my money's on Grady for Secretary of Defense.
And he willingly helped them being who and what he is. I’m glad they did it. Saves us the trouble. One less excuse for the Right to fall on...”He can win!”
No he couldn’t.
They are clearing the decks. Wonder what the GOP establishment will try and shove down our throats.
I’m with ya. Sadly, I think we all need to “go home now”. People will yelp and scream, but they’l line up and vote for Romney II.
