The buzz is that Ann Romney's speech was off the charts and that Chris Christie's speech was moderately good but didn't have the red meat people wanted. I tend to disagree. Christie's speech was fantastic but in a much more subtle way. He showed the stark differences. Thoughts?
Bigoted? That is from a newbie and both signed up about the same time, right when Newt stepped down. So we know what we are dealing w/here.
MORMONISM is a godless cult. It is not bigoted to speak THE TRUTH but a command from God.
I agree with you. I could vote for a Mormon.
Go pound sand newbie. obumbum’s goose is cooked.
That would depend on how the “health” exception is defined and applied. While I don’t support the exception, I could see someone supporting the general concept while not necessarily supporting its elastic application. But even so, having the exception is still different from simply saying a woman has the “right to choose” regardless, full stop. Conceptually, they are not the same thing.
Nothing I said is untrue.
Here is what Christie actually said:
“Dad grew up in poverty. After returning from Army service, he worked at the Breyers Ice Cream plant in the 1950s. With that job and the G.I. bill he put himself through Rutgers University at night to become the first in his family to earn a college degree. Our first family picture was on his graduation day, with Mom beaming next to him, six months pregnant with me. “
You, Christies dad, my dad - and countless more, served their country and earned the GI Bill benefits.
This jackwagon “JediJones” owes each and every one of you an apology.
And, thank you for your service.
yadda yadda yadda........ obama is one and done!
“It actually brought back memories of Sarah Palins acceptance speech. I thought she was amazingly poised, passionate and spellbinding.”
Man, that is saying a lot. Palin’s speech was the best I have ever heard in a convention. Ever. Ann Romney was polished, poised, heartfelt and eloquent.
SP was resolute, patriotic and passionate. Alaskan.
Very different speeches, but Palin’s will someday be the one handlers will want their people to watch to convey a message. Problem is, they won’t have that stupendous messenger.
“No, most Democrats support an unlimited abortion license. Personally, I don’t support any exceptions that Romney supports, but it is certainly not the unlimited abortion license supported by Obama and the Democrats”
The health clause essentially makes abortion legal under all circumstances. The court, which Mittens said had “settled” the abortion issue, ruled that the health of the mother includes such disparate things as emotional well being and mental health. To use that term, Mittens was repeating the Democrat position. Barack Obama himself was saying partial birth abortion could not be banned because congress did not put in any exemptions “for the health of the mother.”
I got the same impression as you about Christie speech. I question if the right message is to tell people they have to sacrifice as Christie did. People hanging on by their financial finger nails are going to say what’s left to sacrifice? The seniors he said will be wiling to sacrifice for their grand children all have reverse mortgages.
We all know mormons are heretics... some very moral, righteous, clean living condemned persons who take care of their own.
And they are worse than unbelievers exactly how?
This is a secular government, and a secular society. Christendom is implied in the Constitution and Founding, but not codified.
We all know how the Book ends. What is your point?
The Flag and the Cross diverged long ago.
You know, I think that may be part of it for me, too. I was doing things in the kitchen with it on and not giving it my full attention. By the time Christie came on, I was concentrating.
Honestly, they were both great and I liked Nikki Haley and Artur Davis, too. Both spoke with passion about the choice we have in November.
“Megyn Kelly was ready to.”
Watching Juan sail off the balcony with a fur collar on would have been REAL TV. I think she is the gal that could do it, too.
YET, he is always praising his ROMNEYCARE with cheap abortions.
What makes you so clueless? The KNOWN LIAR says....
For Evil to exist, it needs support.
Too many were expecting Christie’s speech to be an attack on Obama and so they missed the whole point of what it was about. The second half was quite optimistic. It was a call to action. It was a speech optimistic about the possibilities of how we can fix our current crisis.
It is the tone and message that Romney should take on Thursday, to say that despite all the gridlock and political problems in Washington, we can defeat our current crisis if we have the will to do so. That was Christie’s message.
We are all screwed and it’s going to be very bad.
God I hope I’m wrong,.
Yup, you there with Christian “conviction” rather have the radical islamo-marxist foreigner rule over your life and decide how much you will dish out for his people’s abortions than a Mormon.
Yup right, conviction indeed!!!!
You got that right!
“But Obama doesnt even claim to be pro life. And maybe Romneys conversion is real. “
WRONG. Barack Obama’s argument is the SAME as Romney has begun to make:
“”No one is pro-abortion. I think it’s always a tragic situation,” said Senator Obama. He acknowledged a role for the law in dealing with abortion, saying, “I am completely supportive of a ban on late-term abortions, partial-birth or otherwise, as long as there’s an exception for the mother’s health and life.””

This being America a Mormon can believe whatever they want. And they can still say they have a good marriage, a real marriage.
