Sarah Palin may be a media phenom, but disgruntled New Hampshire Republican leaders are still waiting to learn when the top GOP contender will visit the key primary state.
“Several groups have asked her to come, but she’s playing it cool,” said Diane Bitter, chairwoman of the Rye Republican Town Committee. “Last year we were told that she wouldn’t come, and recently people have gotten the same response.”
The first state in the nation to hold a presidential primary, New Hampshire is already seeing GOP presidential hopefuls canvass the state. Newt Gingrich, Rudy Giuliani, U.S. Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana, former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, and Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty all have visited in recent months, and Mitt Romney — who owns a vacation home in Wolfeboro — is a frequent glad-hander and fund-raiser in the state.
Palin, meanwhile, has repeatedly ignored requests for appearances, according to town committee leaders.
“A lot of people are surprised Palin hasn’t made a visit or contact,” said Manchester GOP chairman Cliff Hurst. “Maybe she’s getting enough press as it is.”
“If she’s running for president, she’s doing it in a different way, that we know,” said Dennis Hogan, Nashua GOP chairman, adding, “but different sometimes works.”
As the Herald reported yesterday, the former Alaska governor has overshadowed Romney with a bestselling book, a hit reality show, and regular appearances on Fox News.
But analysts warn if Palin intends to skip Main Street meet-and-greets in favor of TV and Twitter, she may miss out on Granite State votes.
“I get the impression that (Palin) is generally more interested in running a media-based campaign, rather than a grassroots campaign,” said Jennifer Lucas, assistant professor of politics at St. Anselm College in Manchester. “Here in New Hampshire, there’s no evidence that works.”
This makes no sense. You like Barbour and DeMint, so you spend all of your time attacking Sarah Palin? The only ones who spend their time attacking Palin are Romney associates, frauds like Frum, Noonan, Kathleen Parker, Andrew Sullivan, and the far left. Do you see any nationally recognized conservatives attacking Palin?

I am sure Mrs Palin would think you are full of it. She thinks she can beat Obama. She was laughed off when she said she could beat Frank Murkowski as well.

You have to be Pro Abortion up til birth. You have to be Harvard educated. And you have to wear a business suit to every single rubber chicken circut dinner in New York City and Boston.. and you must never talk about faith or sprituality.

Instead of assuming my motives, why not look at what I have said? I do not and will never support Romney. I do not see the same Sarah that some others do. I am a conservative in thought and deed. I want a competent and strong president.
I'm sorry, but the quitter tag on Palin bothers me. Her education bothers me. (now I become a "concern troll" because I have concerns, sheesh.) I think we may be comitting conservative suicide whether she wins or loses. If she wins, we get someone totally unprepared-an entry-level president; if she loses, we get 4 more years of Obozo.

The actors who played Sgt. Schultz, SS Major Hochstetter, Colonel Klink and General Burchalder were all Jewish.
FACT: Palin rallied the base like no other in 08. She has done wonders in stirring support and getting people off their ass and to start thinking.
But there are far too many who hate her with a passion, making her a bad choice as the GOP presidential nominee.

How much of your time is spent attacking Palin and her supporters? Do you know of any nationally recognized conservatives who spend their time attacking Sarah Palin? Presidents Reagan and Lyndon Johnson had degrees from small or state colleges. Presidents Lincoln, Washington, Truman and many others had no degree whatsoever. Somehow, with only a state university education, Sarah Palin went from the PTA to the city council, to the mayor’s office to a state commission and then the governor’s office. She was picked to be the vice presidential candidate for one of our two major parties. She has written two NYT best-selling books, has a TV show, opines for Fox News and her tweets and Facebook postings are seen and discussed by hundreds of millions, around the world. Other than running a ward, what have you done with your degree?
