Sarah Palin may be a media phenom, but disgruntled New Hampshire Republican leaders are still waiting to learn when the top GOP contender will visit the key primary state.
Several groups have asked her to come, but shes playing it cool, said Diane Bitter, chairwoman of the Rye Republican Town Committee. Last year we were told that she wouldnt come, and recently people have gotten the same response.
The first state in the nation to hold a presidential primary, New Hampshire is already seeing GOP presidential hopefuls canvass the state. Newt Gingrich, Rudy Giuliani, U.S. Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana, former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, and Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty all have visited in recent months, and Mitt Romney who owns a vacation home in Wolfeboro is a frequent glad-hander and fund-raiser in the state.
Palin, meanwhile, has repeatedly ignored requests for appearances, according to town committee leaders.
A lot of people are surprised Palin hasnt made a visit or contact, said Manchester GOP chairman Cliff Hurst. Maybe shes getting enough press as it is.
If shes running for president, shes doing it in a different way, that we know, said Dennis Hogan, Nashua GOP chairman, adding, but different sometimes works.
As the Herald reported yesterday, the former Alaska governor has overshadowed Romney with a bestselling book, a hit reality show, and regular appearances on Fox News.
But analysts warn if Palin intends to skip Main Street meet-and-greets in favor of TV and Twitter, she may miss out on Granite State votes.
I get the impression that (Palin) is generally more interested in running a media-based campaign, rather than a grassroots campaign, said Jennifer Lucas, assistant professor of politics at St. Anselm College in Manchester. Here in New Hampshire, theres no evidence that works.
>>You can do your LSD talk all you want, conservatives have a primary to win, and right now we are ahead, while you dont even care about anyone particular, you only know that you want to stop the conservative from taking that primary.<<
No, I am cautioning that Palin is not the person to run at this time (maybe never). It has nothing to do with her Conservative bonafides.
But, as I said earlier, I am in the “kumbaya” corner of FR where emotion and feelings are the only things that matter. Facts and analysis are for the next door down.
Conservatives can win any state as long as the right candidate is on the ballot. A pro-life conservative is now governor in Maine. Why do we assume that Republicans can only win in red states?
Who even knew that Gingrich/Pawlenty/Santorum/Giuliani went to New Hampshire? If Sarah Palin showed up it would be Page One news. All the Palinphobes would write columns about her run. If I were Sarah Palin, I wouldn’t bother going to NH before I made a final decision about running, and maybe not even then.
LOL, you are only about feelings evidently, in the meantime the conservatives have their candidate at number one in the primary polling, we can live with that.
That is among Republican voters nationally, I don’t know why you keep attacking freerepublic.
The DU is anti-Palin and pro-Obama. The FR is pro-Palin and anti-Obama. Your analogy makes no sense.
LOL! What a great observation!
An image of Nurse Ratched comes to mind! Have a good day FRiend.

DU uses emotion as the main driver and cherry-picks (or invents) facts to suit the agenda.
Just like many on this thread who won’t look reality in the eye.
LOL!
Thank you for the much needed laffs!
You have a good day FRiend. ;o)
:-)!

She really does have to show that she can reverse high negatives somewhere - but it probably is not a good idea to choose the first primary as a testing ground.
No, they can't, which is why this is going to end in war.
There are competing and mutually incompatible visions of society, and they have gradually become geographic in nature.
Unfortunately, the vision of the majority in deep blue states would dissolve the Union in order to incorporate our population, our land, and our resources into a world economy and government.
These forces of treason have STRONG MAJORITIES in California, in New York, in Illinois, and in Massachusetts.
It does not matter who the conservative is, they cannot win in a statewide race in any of those states.
