I've been scanning the news in the last few months about who the Republican party should key in on as far as a viable candidate for the upcoming presidential election. And it's not as far in the future as we might think.

I didn't forget Allen -...

Also, I mention Allen because his name comes up among what people conservatives might support. He seems to be the favorite here at FR. Brownback and Huckabee are also mentioned. Frist is nowhere close. I don't have much confidence in any of them as far as winning the election. Nov. 2008 is still a long way off, though.

Okey dokey. If you want more info on Mitt, check out RealClearPolitics.com right now, and you'll see several articles about him, including in the RCP blog. Also, the Boston Globe has a serious article about him today, which I believe is also available at RCP.

Don't get me wrong. It's not that I don't like Allen. He has not at all impressed me and has so far brought nothing to the table in the way of viable issues involving the war on terrorism, illegal immigration, government spending, etc. Doubtless, his good-old cowboy demeanor may not be suited for a lot of voters looking to make a change (i.e., democrats). I believe Mitt has the ability to communicate with both sides of the aisle, and we need that kind of communicator.

Why do you think Allen is (as you say) the darling at FR? Because someone has compared his affectations to Thomas Jefferson? Because he was a rebel and adorned his walls with conferate flags in college? Because his dad was head coach for the Washington Redskins? (By the way, everyone seems to forget that George Sr. was head coach for the L.A. Rams--Deacon Jones, Nolan Cromwell, Roger Bacon, Roman Gabriel [those were the days]--BEFORE he signed with the Skins. And I still think Sonny Jurgenson was one of the best q'backs the game ever saw.)

Getting back to Junior, when he comes up with an original thought, with concrete possible solutions to the mess the Left and mainstream media have steered us into (by downplaying America's strength and bashing it and the administration at every opportunity possible), let me know. I'm all ears and I want to hear what the man has to offer in the way of elucidations and maintaining our national security. (Even the judges are de-constructing our security with yesterday's absurd ruling.)

After making this post (quote below) back in August, I was a little concerned that I may have jumped to conclusions about LilyLamour, but if you check her posting history you will see we were correct.

"It looked to me like you registered only to promote Mitt Romney, your post

"one of the first stories reported after this revelation was that Mitt Romney had ordered up the National Guard in Massachusetts to cover Logan Airport. He was the first to do it. This shows me that he's a man with a singular mission: to do what's right. And after reading the article at the Townhall blog, I'm convinced that Mitt's our man."

sounded phony, your follow up posts sounded phony, it is a week later and you still look like you only registered to promote Romney."

Will liberal MSM decide who is president?

Romney is not my favorite (Duncan Hunter is, so far), but Romney raised over $5 million in one day, and I'm not hearing it from LMSM.
