[history]
While New Jersey's version of the New York smoking ban makes its rounds in Trenton, the American Cancer Society attempted to garner support for the bill and for the idea of smoke-free bars and restaurants in New Jersey by sponsoring a smoke-free happy hour Thursday at O'Donoghue's restaurant and bar in Hoboken.

This brings to mind what Rush said yesterday, I will paraphrase: one big mistake people make in their own pursuit of happiness is an unwillingness to relocate.
I'm starting to think he was speaking right through the radio to ME!
New Zealand here I come? Or should I just become some Eric Rudolph style survivalist? Geez, I thought I was a city girl. Must I end up paraphrasing Ronald Reagan, saying I didn't leave the city, the city left me?

Example, in North Caldwell, you can't smoke at in front of your house. So, if you are a nonsmoker and have guests, any of them smokes, they have to go to the backyard to have a cig. Isn't North Caldwell where Tony Soprano lives? I'll bet they don't tell him where to smoke his cigar!

fined for smoking in the front property of your house. It is not aloud for residents or guests of residents to smoke in North Caldwell Really, What about if you have a front porch?
I thought in New Jersey a town couldn't ban smoking unless it was for Fire hazard reasons. I would think you have a better chance of burning your backyard down than your front.

Nope, not on the front porch if opened. It is a type of "Appearance Ordinance".

I don't know either; but, this IS the second or third time I've heard reference to this.
One of the places I heard it first was the minutes from the UK meeting in 2001? 2000? When the Lords were briefing the baranice (spelling?) Barronise? Barroness?
I also found an International Group that had a CEO from France that was heading up the smoking ban. IRONICALLY, after I started posting the Governing people of that movement here on FR....the CEO SUDDENLY got changed to someone from the US.
I will send you some info in a moment. Just logged back in.

Next thing you know will be a push to ban drinking in bars.
