Site Records

Warning

Few of these sites are open to the public. Attempting to gain unauthorised access is trespass. Often it is very dangerous too: on more than one occasion people have died in the process.

If you attempt to enter a defence related site, even an apparently unused one, you should expect an unpleasant encounter with military police.

Please do not pester site owners to gain access. This causes irritation to many of them and makes Sub Brit's task more difficult.

Instead, please join one of the specialist societies that can organise visits properly. Sub Brit is one, and there are many others.

If you own, live in or are concerned with a site listed here and wish to contribute or modify your site listing please feel free to contact us. Site owners wishes are always adhered to.

About this list

The objective of this list is to produce a brief but authoritative record for each significant site. We are a long way from achieving this. Many sites that deserve an entry here do not yet have one. Most of the entries that do exist are still very short. Sometimes they are inaccurate too.

The process of improving this site is a gradual, evolutionary one, involving trial and error as we meander towards the truth.

Contributions and corrections are always welcome and should be sent to Mark Bennett please. This site is an on going collective effort and your contributions of new material and updated information is vital, please contribute.
