And everyone wonders why all the AIR RAGE!
And aside from 9-11, if planes still had their smoking sections, their business would not have dropped so drastically. Perhaps the airlines should bring back the smoking sections to entice more passengers? Just a thought, of course.

No Smoking Ban In Effect!Grammar police alert.
Does this mean that they have banned NOT SMOKING? Or that there is not any ban in place at all?

"Its discriminatory and its ridiculous, especially since they are doing it to sell more overpriced paperbacks and travel pillows." Bump.

just spoke with a gal at the Airport Authority. There will be two smoking areas beyond security, at the bars on both concourses and Brew Brothers, before security. Three areas total.
Looks like Frank X. Mullen Jr. screwed up, again.

Bummer!
Let's start a list of smoker friendly airports.
Tulsa (2 year old info, room inside gate area)
Denver (again 2 year old experience, upstairs in lounge)
Chicago (If you walk outside)

There's noplace at LAX past security except one little outdoor garden in one of the commuter terminals...and in Sydney, Australia - at least in the 'transit area' which is amazingly huge - there is absolutely nowhere to go have a puff....I went to the Qantas Club after the 15 hour flight from Los Angeles and was told "sorry", but tipped (and given a terminal map) that if I went way to the other end of the concourse where no flights were coming or going for another 4 hours, I'd be "safe" (since getting caught smoking there is an instant fine, payable on the spot if you're traveling); it worked and I got my fix to get me over to Perth. You would, however, think that someplace so large would have at least one teenie-weenie patio.

I am a non smoker, but this is rediculus! When will the madness stop! It IS madness. What with all the world turmoil, the Nico-Nazi's can't see beyond stopping adults from enjoying a legal commodity. I know it's nuts!
They have their teeth so deep into smokers that they can't see straight. They have made it their lifes work to see that smoking is ended YESTERDAY. Well, sorry. I guess they want to just shoot us or put us in prison.

And they think this is going to increase traffic...... they are nuts.

And they think this is going to increase traffic...... they are nuts. The airlines are in dire straights. You would think they would bring back the smoking sections to entice more travelers. But oh no! They aren't that smart.

#9...We really should get serious about smoke-unfriendly places, be they City, States, airports or whatever.
To: SheLion
Poor babies. They look so cute walled inside their little glass houses. The economics are working against those whose habits create such a stench.
Now they are going to spend exra money and time criss-crossing the US just so they can have a cig. What devotion.

Several times I returned home on leave, from serving our country overseas in various police actions or peacekeeping duties, to find that in this supposedly free country Chicago O'hare has banned smoking entirely, necessitating my leaving the airport to smoke, and return through "security" everytime. (We all know now know how well that worked)
PC is literally killing us.
To: SheLion
It's those controlling twits again...
If it were simply a matter of creating revenue, I know that most smokers would be willing to pay for the use of their "smoke room".
What are the odds that this alternative was even examined?
