Seems to me we shouldn't allow Dickey and the others to get away with their nasty little plan, but true to FReeper form, shout it from the rooftops.

Heh. Hehehehe. Bwahahahahah!!!! Let's see which freepers can resist the siren call of RINOdom. They gave up being conservatives long ago. Now, they are expected to be soft on immigration. Pass the popcorn, ma, it's The Music Man starring Georgie Bush!

Yup... if the GOP wants to lose control of Congress this fall and get beaten soundly across the board in November, it couldn't find a better way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory than by being "soft" on illegal immigration. Gotta hand to Karl Rove: the man's a born genius!!! ;-)

I need more info on Title III. How does this prevent overstaying a visa?

And I'd like to add:
Title IX, called Stoping It Before It Starts, sets the penalty for hiring an illegal alien to a fine of at least $10,000 and at least 5 years in a federal prision.

Title X, called Let's Be Sensible About This, would stop children born to illegal aliens in this country from becoming automatic American citizens.

Title XI, called Stop The Coddling, would prevent illegal aliens from partaking of ANY public welfare perks including, but not limited to, Medicaid and Food Stamps.

Ya see, I think we almost beg these folks to become illegals. We've got a whole system set up to treat them extraordinarily well. If we stop doing this, part of the allure will be taken away.

"The National Republican Congressional Committee has been advising its candidates NOT to mention border security and immigration issues in their speeches or campaign literature," stated Janine Hansen Independent American candidate for Congress Dist. 2 in Nevada.

--------------------

If I were a Republican I'd be frightened to mention the issue too.

"Immigration isn't an issue," but replacing my vote and the Mrs.'s with those of Mexicans is. We're sitting this one out, and will laugh at the results.

There is a simple cure, fine employers using illegals 50 grand per illegal, plus shut their business down for a month.

As for Bush and his globalist cronies in Congress, they can go pound sand with their pals the Saudi's before they will ever get a vote from me or mine again.

For the life of me I do not understand why Republicans are afraid to be Republicans. Sometimes they are their own worst enemies.

This is the last one for awhile, I am geting tired of trying to educate you. It would appear to me that you haven't bothered to take the time to find out what is going on in your own country. You really should you know, before you lose it or maybe you are already taking spanish lessons. Make sure you tell these people that there is no illegal immigrant problem, I am sure they will be relieved to know that.

add "Immigration Isn't An Issue Says Congressional GOP"

to list of compelling reasons to spend election day at the bar or racetrack.

This legislation is completely in accord with public opinion polls showing that the big majority of the American people want government to reduce the number of legal immigrants, to stop the irresponsible issuance of visas, to deport illegal aliens, and to use U.S. troops to guard our borders," stated Hansen.

The Republicowards could hammer the Dems on this--if they weren't afraid of their own shadow.

Well now, in our eagerness to dump on the Republicans, we accept whatever claims an opposing candidate makes, unsubstantiated or not, without even raising the question of a verifyiable source. After all, who cares if that's the truth or not, as long as we can criticize the Republicans.

Next thing you know, people will be posting Carville's crap and calling it "the truth".

BTW, the title of the article leads one to believe that it will discuss what the Congressional GOP has said about immigration.

Could you point me to the section of the article where it quotes anyone in the Congressional GOP saying that?

The Republican party candidates aren't going to have much they can say pretty soon. They can't bring up immigration because it's controversial with La Raza types, they can't bring up abortion because NOW doesn't like that. They're going to let the Democrats do all the talking it seems.

Let's see...
Immigration malaise in many forms is the most irritating and frustrating problem on my radar.
It generates or exacerbates all of our other problems.

The Republicans don't want to talk about it.

The "Progressives" want to continue as if Immigration laws don't exist.

What are the options?

I am trying really hard to remain calm.

I am trying really hard not to exercise my more colorful vocabulary

It's not working.

Time for a time-out...

Unfortunately, the National Republican Congressional Campaign Committee has often taken the "no guts," avoid too much exposure, sort of approach. That is why, until the more gutsy "Contract With America," in 1994, the Republicans almost always lost Congress.

The British Conservative Party condemned itself to a landslide defeat in last years' election, because it agreed to keep immigration off the table in the campaign. That decision was as stupid as it was cowardly and unprincipled. There can be nothing more important than the character of your nation. To suggest that it should not even be debated, whom you permit to join your family, as it were, is lunacy, pure and simple. Have the Republicans in Washington all fallen down the Rabbit Hole? Will they be surprised, when we find ourselves replaced by a new party, in a few years?

The only way to save the Republican Party, I suspect, is for those of us who are not afraid of discussing the realities of demographics, ethnicity and history, to speak up and out, loudly and effectively, at every opportunity.
