they obviously haven't kept their word, perhaps he should do something before the statute of limitations runs out.

- if you, Bush-Ashcroft, indict Clinton on bribery or go after Hillary or any of this - we're gonna shut you down. We're not gonna do anything. So, did I miss the indictment?

You gotta love those Democrats, they say they'll torpedo legislation, shut the country down to protect the criminal President and his wife from answering for their crimes. It had to be a bluff and apparently W fell for it.

we're gonna shut you down. We're not gonna do anything. You're not going to get any (legislation) passed if four years." Gee if the first 2 years of Bush's presidency is any indication of what they consider passing legislation than we're definately getting shafted.
This is a crock, Dash-hole and co. have been anything but cooperative so far, why should the Republicans expect anything else in the next 2 years?

Who is this insider? Not a Bush loyalist, obviously.
I don't believe this is true, and I think the story came from the leader of the Axis of Whining Weasels,
BILL KRISTOL!!

That makes alot of sense (not). during a war, he could have seriously started going into the Clinton scandals and used the democraps worthelss threat against them in Nov.
"Look folks, we are at war and congress did nothing, presumably due to the Clinton investigation. If this is how congress is ran, then i think the American people can make up their own mind." - Bush around Nov elections (i hope)

Sorry, I don't believe this. If the Dems threatened that, the GOP would have loved to leak it. Perhaps more like it is that the Dems suggested that pursuing Clinton might prove to be a distraction to a fresh start.

Sadly, I believe every word of this. I always thought in some way the Bush's were being blackmailed. The evidence against those two clinton creeps was too obvious. It's now up to Larry Klayman and I've given up on him.

If you ask me, this:
O'Reilly said that according to his source, "Basically they said look, if you embarrass us - by us we mean the Democratic Party - if you, Bush-Ashcroft, indict Clinton on bribery or go after Hillary or any of this - we're gonna shut you down. We're not gonna do anything. You're not going to get any (legislation) passed if four years."
is all the more reason to take them to the mat. Threaten me and I kick your ass! That's the American way! That's the Texan way. Get the TRUTH out there for all to see and then let the chips fall where they may. I believe that public opinion will go with honesty and decency. Caving in will only lower the Bush administration down to the level of the Clintons.
You can't fight a war if the people don't believe in you and your word, Mr. President. Do the right thing!!! We will support you. We've been waiting for it, longing for it, praying for it, even begging for it. Justice needs to prevail. Tell the truth about the Clintons. Any Democrat still around after the voters get the truth will most likely be with you. Have faith!

If this is true, then congressional democrat leaders ought to be investigated for obstucting justice and threatening our President.
Moreover, actually, just how much legislation, promulgation, restriction can we possibly need. This is why term limits is so appealing and necessary, IMHO.

So far all we have is O'Reilly on this. I will wait and see where we go from here. Somehow I can't see President Bush caving to blackmail. I can however, see him want to save his first two years in office from being sucked up by more Clinton all the time.
To: dts32041
"No comment, just wondered why this hasn't Shown up before?"
Because O'Reilly is full of himself. Who is this high level source? Carl Rove? Rove would lie and sell his grandmother for politics. I think O'Reilly should either come clean or shut up. This mounts to blackmailing a sitting President. I got a feeling this is total bull or is that bill. AAH, it doesn't matter it means the same! HOGWASH!
To: dts32041
This is a no brainer. It has been obvious since Day one that Bush considers polititions to be above the law. EVERYTHING has been swept under the rug. He has spit on justice. He has spit on one of the most sacred principles of this country. I voted for him and yet it is this very issue that first convinced me that he was bad for America. And then it got even worse.

Bush said, "... if you harbor a terrorist, if you feed a terrorist, if you try to hide a terrorist, you, yourself, are just as guilty as the terrorist." So why isn't he going after the Democrats for covering for Klintoon?
To: dts32041
This pathetic piece of "news" is a transparent con job. The Bush administration had no intention of ever pursuing any criminal charges in this case, and this information was leaked simply to provide an excuse for themselves.
To: dts32041
"A very highly placed source - and I mean this guy knows what's going on in the Bush administration - told me about a month ago that when President Bush took office he had meetings with all of the Democratic leadership.... one on one meetings in the Oval Office," O'Reilly said. "The Democratic leadership made it quite clear to Mr. Bush that he would not get any cooperation - zero - on the part of the Democrats in the Senate and in the House if he pursued any kind of a criminal investigation against Bill Clinton."
For a guy who claims to be so bright, this really makes O'Reilly look like a fool. Dems came to Bush when he FIRST TOOK OFFICE and threatened not to cooperate?? When he first took office, Bush had majority vote in both Houses, he didn't NEED their cooperation.
If any kind of meeting like this took place, the conversation would more than likely be that Bush promised all these Dems that he really wanted to be a good guy, *don't worry, I won't do anything further on the Clinton front* and then he fell for their phony promises to get along if he kept his word.
