Japan attacked us at Pearl Harbor and through alliances Germany and Italy declared war against the U.S. You may have missed it, but the Taliban declared war on us. They sponsored taking down the WTC Towers.
We did not attack Afghanistan, as you would like to have us all believe. We attacked the Taliban, which is housed in Afghanistan.
Afghanistan never attacked us, they have the unfortunate geography that places them as the most opportune candidate for an oil pipeline.
Please tell us all exactly where we are plugging in to get our supply so I can go and get some at a good price.

We the people can take care of ourselves, thank you very much. You'll be the first in line to blame Bush and ask why he didn't do something to protect the country when the next attack occurs.

You really ought to join DU I think you are too late on that suggestion.

that department's name was changed from The War Department to the Department of DefenseThe change occurred in 1947 when the War Department and the Navy Department were merged to form the Department of Defense. The Army Department and the Navy Department became sub-departments of DoD, as did the Army Air Corps - renamed the Air Force. The name Department of Defense was chosen since it sounded less aggressive than the War Department.

I guess that's why Mohammed Atta trained under the noses of the feds at Rudi Dekker's Flight School.Careful, you are making the case for the "Largest Expansion of Government Since Truman"

"I can't wait for you to tell us all what the "political objective" is (concerning the USGC). Do tell. Be extremely and painfully specific. I am waiting."
I do not know what your after, but if you can't see the politics in this latest directive, then your lost. Placing the USCG under another newly appointed political agency is a slap at every coastie who ever served. This newest move was surely to upstage the US Senate. Just like the appointment of Ridge was. 170,000 folk is what? Streamlining?
Let me be simple to you. Its the USCG who should be leading the Homeland Defense of the United States. Not some political jerk. Get it!?
To: Texasforever
My point exactly, "domestic terr ops" are already being done.Title 3's etc. are not impossible to get. The lack of communication etc. within certain agencies was the screw-up!

Speaking of fingers, W's plan can't be all bad if he's taking immigration away from Ashcroft. All Ashcroft wanted to do was fingerprint Arabs....now we can get someone in there who willing to chop off Arab fingers.

"As Ambrose [B?]Pierce one said ' People sleep well at night because brave men are ready to do violence on their behalf". Attributed to George Orwell:
"People sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."
Another good one:
"There is no safety for honest men except by believing all possible evil of evil men."

Actually it has been cited with documentation that much of this "plan" came from the CFR. Much?

You'll be the first in line to blame Bush and ask why he didn't do something to protect the country when the next attack occurs. He's been a disappointment...same ol' same ol'.....but I haven't blamed him for 9/11....he's just in over his head, but his heart is in the right place.
The reason we'll have more terror attacks is because we stick our nose where it doesn't belong. Kinda like you do.

Let me be simple to you. Its the USCG who should be leading the Homeland Defense of the United States. Not some political jerk. You are proposing a military dictatorship to solve the problem. How interesting. Wonder why the globalist advisors to Bush didn't think of that.

Orwell i stand corrected. thank you...

I do not know what your after, but if you can't see the politics in this latest directive, then your lost. That was all I expected you to provide. Thanks any way.
My cousin is in the Coast Guard. I have great respect for the people.
The US Army is still mad that the Army Air Forces were separated from them in 1947 as the US Air Force.
Reorganization worked there, didn't it?

your kind allowed Bill Clinton to be elected because you were to busy infighting among fellow conservatives.

The only way you can define a country is to maintain your borders. How do you maintain the safety of your home if you don't maintain the walls of your house. You obviously live in a world where anyone can go anywhere any time they want to. Excuse me sir but you are an idiot.
