[history]
President Bush is the leading obstacle to controlling illegal immigration in this country and his "open door" border policy is a threat to national security, the Republican chairman of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus said yesterday.
Rep. Tom Tancredo told editors and reporters in a luncheon meeting at The Washington Times that Mr. Bush is out of step with the majority of Americans who want immigration reform and that his "altruistic views" on the subject were an open invitation to new terrorist attacks.

True border control would require at least 500,000 to maybe 1,000,000 border agents. Where did you get these figures?

Good points made Sabertooth. Here, where I live, in Upstate, NY, just about all the restaurants have illegals working in them. Let's close them all down, the ones that are doing this and let law abiding citizens run them. If we did this, which I agree that we should, America would fall on its face. American kids today, have know Idea what it means to work hard and to work your way up the economic ladder.

Tell me why Tancredo is not yet the President of the United States? The Socialist Republican Party will never allow him to rise to the office of President and give us the man that the American public is entitled to, this is why I will write in Tancredo in 2004 and every other election featuring a RINO candidate for President.
Bush does alot of yammering about his phoney "compassion". Tancredo actually has real compassion for the people he is actually suppose to represent.

What frustrates the hell out of me about this is the fact that immigration and border control were issues for many of us
before the last election -
before 9/11. Unfortunately only one candidate ever raised the issue Pat Buchanan.
(OK ,all you anti-Buchananites! Were ready for your usual ad hominems.)

We need a "Closed Door" policy in the aftermath of 9-11. Youre absolutely right! Make the terrorists spend their time figuring out how to get into the U.S. rather than how to blow it up!
