President Bush is the leading obstacle to controlling illegal immigration in this country and his "open door" border policy is a threat to national security, the Republican chairman of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus said yesterday.
Rep. Tom Tancredo told editors and reporters in a luncheon meeting at The Washington Times that Mr. Bush is out of step with the majority of Americans who want immigration reform and that his "altruistic views" on the subject were an open invitation to new terrorist attacks.

You just enforce it as you would any other law!
I agree with you.
I'm not ready for the tin foil hat brigade yet, but most people who commit suicide do it with a head shot.
At least it didn't say that Rowland was found with an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound to his back.
Before you go just read this.
The problem will never go away completely. Never will so long as we have a high standard of living and incredibly lucrative welfare. But the problem can in fact be contained and reduced.
I think that my solutions costs may be more than offset by the drops in welfare costs (something that both you and I can agree is a GOOD thing).
And the physical stuff is a one time cost plus the cost of maintainence. Far less than the current philosophy of hiring as many INS agents as it takes to not get the job done. Also, any Marine will tell you that guarding a door or a wall is much easier and more effective than guarding an open area.

IMHO, #43 is presently serving #41 second term.
#43 is toast in 2004.
If we're lucky he'll take all the RINO's with him into oblivion.
Globalist scum...
Amen! Our grandchildren will despise us if we don't do something now.
I happen to agree with Egg. Target the employers of illegals, and the illegals go home. Without a vast sea of illegals, the terrorists stick out like a sore thumb.
"Harmless" illegals are the sea in which the terrorist fish swim. They create an underground economy of over 10 million people. Some of the 9-11 terrorists bought their phony ID from hispanics who cater to the illegal alien market. Getting rid of the "hard working" illegals is an essential step to getting rid of the terrorists.
Actually, the direct cost of welfare is the least of the damage illegal aliens do to our country, especially since PRWORA. By driving down low end of wage scale, illegals make it harder for low-skilled Americans to earn a living. You can bash highschool dropouts, but they are fellow Americans and when they can't raise a family WE have to deal with the crime, illegitimacy and squalor.
A surplus of illegals willing to work for low-wages and no benefits actually creates the demand for more low-wage workers. Businesses have no incentive to modernize. Instead of buying a new machine, you throw a couple more wetbacks on the production line. This hurts productivity.
Baloney. With all the immigrants in this country it's not hard for terrorist to blend in with the crowd.
You may not know this, but some Muslims are white, blonde, and have blue eyes.
Exactly. Inside-the-Beltway RepublicRats have lost touch with their core constituency: middle class white males.
I hope that his selfserving promotions do not cost the conservative movement the foothold on American politics that we've gained in the last 6 years.
Don't automatically equate RepublicRats with Conservatives. They have not always been the same. RepublicRats seem to be going back to their pre-Goldwater East Coast Elite Rockefeller roots. We need to threaten to punish Jorge Bush in 2004. RepublicRats need to come back to our way of thinking. We shall never adapt to theirs.
Pssst! Ricky! Wanna know a secret? Don't tell anyone I told ya, but the FBI does NOT hunt for terrorist by walking around the street checking the color of people's hair and eyes. It's a tiny little bit more complicated than that...
