I think America needs to open its borders to Mexico so that there is not even a border patrol. America is the land of opportunity and freedom. That should be the case for EVERYONE. Not just those that are citizens. There should be nothing seperating people from the opportunity that America offers. It is wrong not to share the wealth America has.

That is soooo easy to say living here. Could you change this country? No. Easier said than done. It is so easy to have others do what you yourself are not able or willing to do. For example. All you people on FR do is bitch and moan about how terrible America is becoming. Yet that is all you do. Why don't you do something about this country? Right. Beacause it is easier to make excuses and demand others do it for you.

Well, my reply was a legitemate one and I was sincere in my assessment of your "vanity" post. A great deal of FR is about tearing into articles and such. By "contributing" your own post, if you can call it that, you opened yourself up to criticism, which I gladly supplied. If you can't handle criticism of your vapid nothingness of a post, than perhaps you shouldn't be making one now, should you? Or are you too "vane" to even realize that your post was pointless and didn't say anything? Why should I move on? You posted on an open forum and didn't expect a response?

Sure ---the whole solution is for the whole world's population to move to the US? For Americans to send planes and pick up every unfortunate human in Calcutta, China, Mexico City and all the other poor cities?
How about Mexicans getting together like our Founding Fathers in the US did and writing a Constitution and declaring war on their oppressors. Now that is a solution ---but that takes being willing to fight for something ---not just run to Americans with hands out demanding they take care of you.
Mexico is a very wealthy land, very rich in natural resources. The people are poor because they don't demand a change in their government and they don't change their culture.

Is that what you would have told your ancestors? Don't come to America, declare war in Italy or Ireland or England or Canada or Russia or China or India or every other country on Earth. No, your ancestors wanted the same thing that these Mexicans want, except our ancestors didn't have people like you stopping them.

It is wrong not to share the wealth America has. Here is where everyone goes wrong. America has no wealth to share. All of the wealth is in the American people that earned it. That is why sending money to a country where the people won't work is stealing from the American people. The world has been stealing from the American people for decades. Now the thieves want to come here and steal some more, they will take our tax dollars to live when they find out that nothing is free and to be an American like the see on TeeVee takes hard work and dedication. Then they get all pissed and start calling us names and say we discriminate.
Don't believe what you see on TeeVee, WEM didn't just come here and have riches showered on them from the sky, we busted our butts and earned them. Is that simple enough for you to understand?

God helps those who help themselves. Mexicans will never be a middle class country if they just expect others to do everything for them. They could be a middle class country (Japan was able to do it on far less), if they began to value education and hard work. The United States did have an advantage of inheriting the Puritans Protestant work ethic but there's no reason others can't imitate that in their own homelands.

You are so wrong and don't even realize it. Our ancestors weren't coming hear for free medical care, welfare payments and schooling in 100 different languages.

Well Paul, what a well rounded group we have here. So, are you a member of the Democratic Socialists of America or are you just sounding off like one of them?

Oh please. You know as well as I do that if those things were available at the time they would have taken advantage of it. Or do suggest that they would have let their children die instead of utilizing whatever free health care was available?

Your reply to the previous one was along the lines of that childish refrain. I guess my observation should have been more direct, as it clearly flew right over your head.

I happen to live in a place where the Mexicans come by the thousands. Now a city that was equal (even slightly above) the national level 50 years ago is becoming dirt poor. It's so bad now that even Mexicans are leaving this area going on to more American places ---so what good did it do them to come here but not leave their own ways behind? Too many are content with getting into the welfare system and living the good life in the housing projects. They aren't learning English and they aren't teaching it to their children.
