I don't mean to bust your bubble, but if you think only the best of the best came to America, you have been visiting FR too much. We took the best of the best and the worst of the worst.

Yes, but since it isn't that way, we have to live in the world we have.

What scares me most about Mexicans is that so many seem inclined to vote here for the exact same kind of politicians they had in Mexico. They seem to be flocking to Tony Sanchez ---who as Dan Morales said is just like some Mexican governor buying himself an election. And they adore Clinton. If they can't vote better than that ---they'll just make this country like Mexico is.

If it was an equal allottment form both sides as you imply, America wouldn't be the great nation that it is today. Don't try to get into moral equivalency, all cultures are the same, America was just lucky, or any other of these silly arguments either. They are all about 5 intellectual levels lower than Go Fish.

Well changing their political views is another story. When the Rats send down rabble rousers to stir up the liberal vote, that has to be countered.

Actually I like Mexicans and I like Mexico but it's not helping Mexico either for so many people to up and leave it. There are small towns now that have had half the people leave --and when they leave it's the old and the young being left behind --and they're worse off than ever. Leaving in those kinds of numbers doesn't make a very bright future. Towns like Juarez are going down fast ---no one plans on staying or investing in it ---and it was once a nice enough place.

Well no, we don't have to live that way. We have the ability to choose not to. You however are advocating that we do, so your "yes" is complete contradiction. Should we impose these requirements or not? You just said "yes, but we can't so we shouldn't." You know that you are trapped here don't you? If these requirements were imposed, which you first said you would agree to, then your argument that we should open the borders is blown to bits. I think you are completely confused at this point.

Not at all, but you attempt to exclude everyone that came AFTER the people who brought you here. Why is every other generation and nationality OK to have come to America but Mexicans?

Welllllll.... OK.... Someone has to cut my lawn.

That is sooo insensitive. (They did a beautiful job on my concrete, though.)

Not at all. Opening our borders while demanding the things you espoused need not be mutually exclusive. But reality does not allow for it so why bother with the hypothetical?

I think if the Japanese could do it ---and they have a small island with mostly the ocean for resources, then Mexico with it's great land mass and temperate and tropical climate --and two ocean coasts, and oil should be able to develop it's wealth ---it really has everything the US has ---except the culture and government are different ---those can be changed.

Kids? Who said anything about kids? If you are willing to work for your pay and/or citizenship, then, sure, bring in anyone who wants to experience the American Dream.

We will not support someone who comes here illeagally and expects the ones who work hard to support them.

I'm afraid I am not just talking about Mexicans. You may be, but I am not. Are you looking for special treatment of Mexicans versus other immigrants? I'm not.

It is wrong not to share the wealth America has.

---------------------------------

People create goods and wealth. Artificial boundaries don't. Consequently, America has no wealth. Individual wealth happens to occur in America. Unless you are talking about the monetary amount of goods and services you, yourself, have created, it is not yours and you have no right to give it away to others.
