SACRAMENTO -- Gov. Gray Davis on Wednesday ordered a six-month moratorium that would prohibit any convicted criminals who have applied to work in state-licensed child care from being granted a waiver - a process that allows them to work with children despite their pasts.

okay, but what about the convicted felons who are in the system now? Is there going to be an accounting to that end?

Isn't it amazing how fast the Demoncrats have responded o the news out of the OC Register?
I am renewing my subscription just on this one series alone.
Today's paper say they have more to tell us!
Go Simon!

"The governor is ordering these changes and they will happen," said spokeswoman Hilary McLean. "Children are the governor's top priority." Yea, he makes cahnges when he's exposed. The truth is, davis ordered the non discloser policy (actually, I thinks its in the law he encuraged) to protect their (criminals) privacy.

If the Register exposes it , I am sure Davis will take action.

Under Davis' Wednesday order, the parents still will not be told the specific crimes that prompted the waivers. But operators must tell parents who was granted the waiver and why he or she is at the facility

"...Is any of this getting reported in your area? ..."gonzo here from mid-Florida, Ernest! Not a peep here, pal!
Unless railroad-spikes are pounded through a felons head, it just isn't gonna get any press.
I'm for the spikes, BTW! Stay well and vigilant, bud........FRegards

...reforms will be instituted and publicized before criminals can be granted waivers again. Thank God! At first, I thought they were going to keep the poor criminals out of the child care business. Now I see it will be okay just as soon as more bureacracy can be created. Then, after bureaucratic review, the criminals can have access to all the children they want.

he makes changes when he's exposed. As someone mentioned on another thread, crisis management is not leadership.
