'Worse than Vietnam'

A funny thing happened to Gov. Gray Davis' effort to paint GOP rival Bill Simon as an extremist nut bag.

Davis opened his mouth.

This is what he told the San Diego Union-Tribune editorial board last week.

Davis said of the energy crisis: "This is like a war. This is worse than being in Vietnam. This is a full-out war against me."

Rush just finished talking about this article and concluded that we should have Simon bumper stickers that say:

Vote for Simon, He's not Insane!

I watched Fascist Davis for a couple of minutes after he was declared a winner last Tuesday. He showed some real signs of a guy having breaks with reality even during his victory!

The rats will probably start keeping under wraps and using old film clips instead what he looks like now and acts like!

"Worse than Vietnam?" "A full-out war against me?" Did somebody steal Capt. Queeg's strawberries?

I found THEM!

"If I didn't panic, you wouldn't be able to put out your paper. I saved this friggin' paper. I kept the lights on in this state. Do you understand that? I kept the lights on."

Megalomaniac????

If the 'guv' had signed the long term contracts in the fall of 2,000(instead of fundraising for himself and Algore), there wouldn't have been a 'panic'. He turned the 'lights' back on after he turned them off, at TWICE THE PRICE to Californians in the future(you know, the CHILDREN).

Criteria for Bronze Star:
The Bronze Star Medal may be awarded to individuals who, while serving in any capacity with the Armed Forces of the United States in a combat theater, distinguish themselves by heroism, outstanding achievement, or by meritorious service not involving aerial flight
And:
Additional awards are denoted by oak leaf clusters. The "V" device is worn when the Bronze Star Medal is awarded for heroism.
Davis was a lawyer serving in Vietnam when he got his star. I have never seen any press release denoting why he got this medal, or mentioning a combat V. I suspect he got it for being a real good boy. Maybe he won a court martial against some guy for fighting too hard and being mean to the VC. Anyway, I doubt that he got it for heroism.

Self sacrifice just ain't Gray's style. More like self worship.

Ooops, that was another Fascist in a different country at a different time.

They called it a "police action" also. I never saw any cops on the beat. I only saw little short commies in black jammies shooting RPGs and AK47s at me. I thought it was a war. I got hit. So, I believe it was a war. Or, a night out in downtown Atlanta.

I am not a Davis fan (to quote the Klingons, he is a waste of skin), but he inherited the underlying causes of the power crisis:

1. An adamant refusal to build any plants anywhere in the state for the last 10 years. (Although he did support this lunacy!)

2. The idiotic partial de-regulation you described was passed and in effect long before he became governor.

Davis' claim to fame is that he took a small problem, easily solved by deregulating the rest of the electric industry, and turned it into a disaster for which we will be paying over the next 20 years.

Asked about the "worse than Vietnam" statement, Davis press secretary Steven Maviglio responded, "The governor's office was in a bunker at the time. We were getting shot at by congressional committees, courts, consumer groups, the left, the right, the generators, the utilities. There were no allies in this fight."

Glad he explained it, or we might have thought they were paranoid.

I was IN Vietnam, three tours, and this is nothing like it. Hunkered down in a bunker???? He must have been an admin officer. My electric bill went from $31.00 in November 2000 to $132.00 in February 2001. Tell me about how badly this A---Hole screwed the puppy on that one!!!! If Simon can't beat this guy without even campaigning he ought to be left in a room with a loaded pistol.

"gun-controlitis"?

"Yes, we have no ba-na-nas,

We have no ba-na-nas, to-day."

"Vote for Simon, He's not Insane!"
Simon should buy a few billboards in Sacramento with this huge slogan and watch for Grayout Doofus to explode :)

Simon can't put this on bill boards or on bumper stickers:

"Vote for Simon, He's not Insane!"

However, the rest of us could do it!

I sent "Vote for Simon, He's not Insane!" out to my email list, and have received a lot of questions of where they could get a bumper sticker that says that!

I'll concede the point, and also add 1. The $12 billion surplus he got wasn't due to his actions either.

This is what he told the San Diego Union-Tribune editorial board last week.

Davis said of the energy crisis: "This is like a war. This is worse than being in Vietnam. This is a full-out war against me."

And: "I kept the lights on. And this sounds a little presumptuous, but I think I should get a round of applause. I don't get squat."

Asked if he panicked when he agreed to pricey long-term electricity contracts, which he is now trying to break, Davis answered, "If I didn't panic, you wouldn't be able to put out your paper. I saved this friggin' paper. I kept the lights on in this state. Do you understand that? I kept the lights on. "

Sure ya did, DimLite. . .sure ya did!
