Just heard a news break from Rick Sanchez saying the Bush administration is going to hold the Clinton administration responsible for pressing peace talks in a volatile situation that they knew would result in more violence against Israel beginning in 2000....more to follow during briefing. But apparently Ari is going to have something big to say on this and where the U.S. is going to go with the situation in Israel and the war on terrorism.

This is the second time I have seen a Dem questioning the war in the last couple of days! It was Byrd yesterday!
It's all pretty transparent. The Dems had to wait and see if the recession would be a useful issue in the elections. With Greenspan's announcement yesterday that a recovery is here, they lost that issue. I'm sure they knew a few days ahead of time what Greenspan was going to say, so they started sniping on a new front against Bush for the mid-terms.
ergo, the war.
It has nothing to do with anything real. It is entirely partisan political logic.

I don't disagree with the analysis--it was a dumb move on Clinton's part--why is Bush saying this now, right after he praises the Saudi 'initiative.' It will be interpreted as the US not committing to engaging the Israelis and the Palestinians.

This philosophy might be at work here: "keep your friends close, but your enemies closer"...Laura is sweet and genuine, but she is also shrewd. I believe she will ultimately expose Hillary for the lying, disloyal "B" Laura knows she is. How better than to publicly show graciousness toward her? Laura's obvious character makes Hillary's deceitfulness that much more apparent to all. I'd prefer Laura kept her distance, but unpleasant proximity is sometimes necessary.

Hmmm. The way you've reported it, it sounds rather counterproductive. It'd lead to a lot of bluster and blame on both sides, and basically be more trouble than it's worth.
I think that what could be the topic is something slightly different: that the Bush administration will publicly repudiate Clinton's explicit "land for peace" stance as being unrealistic.
This would be in concord with Mubarak's comments regarding the Saudi peace proposal, which is in essence based on Clinton's formula (land for peace).
I think, too, that Ari will probably say something about how the reason that "land for peace" won't work, is that both parties have to agree with the "peace" part. And the Palestinians have not demonstrated this -- in which case "land for peace" is completely unworkable.
My humble guess.....

I'm thinking it won't be long before Arafat is assassinated and then you'll see a Holy War like we haven't seen since 1967. Depends on which side assassinates him.

I swear I had flipped on when he was reading this wire copy and he said Ari is going to address this. Something inside me said 2 words... Free Republic.

I think this deserves a message directly to the American people, delivered from the Oval Office.
Democrats are gearing up for November, this attack has just begun, If President Bush ducks instead of fighting back, and doesn't take advantage of his high numbers to go after Daschle, it will be a huge mistake. You don't let democrats get away with peeing on your leg. Next time, they will aim for your eyes.

FINALLY! The gloves are off!
To: r9etb
Sanchez was sitting there almost in a form of shock and confusion as well...he was literally saying that this was going back to 2000 and that this was coming from the white house and ari will be talking about this at 12:30 and they were to carry it live.
To: YaYa123
do you think we might get a double shot against the dim's? Ari hitting the Clinton's and Daschle for his comments?
To: YaYa123
YAHOO! I hope he rips them from one end of the spectrum to the other....they deserve it. Where is the "patriotism" they so "wanted" 5-1/2 months ago? Is it down the toilet? Yup. With their freaking brains.
Go Ari...give 'em hell. (I mean heck). :-)
