Anybody know what a "selectee" is that is quoted?

A passenger had a gun, killed one of the hijackers and yet was unable to subdue the others? Sounds fishy to me.

I think if a hijacker had used a gun, the anti-gunners would have got wind of it and would be shouting it from every mountain top.

P.S. Sounds like misinformation to counter the claims that a gun would have prevented the tragedy. I can see the anti-gunners saying. "See! A gun DIDN'T stop the hijackers!"

The FAA claims the memo, time-stamped Sept. 11 at 5:30 p.m., was written in error.
Rather unlikely they had this information so soon after the crash. I doubt they recovered much that day, never mind had time to do an autopsy.

The FAA claims the memo, time-stamped Sept. 11 at 5:30 p.m., was written in error. I suspect that is an accurate description of what happened. It sounds like some of the wild speculation that occured on 9/11. Remember the stories of truck bombs going off near the Treasury Building, up to five other hijacked planes being tracked, etc.?
My immediate reaction when I heard that two hijacked jets had been crashed into the WTC was to wonder how the H they had gotten firearms aboard the airplane. I could not conceive how four to six hijackers could control an airplane with pocketknives. Sounds like someone at the FAA felt the same way.

Besides being a co-founder of Akamai, Daniel Lewin was also an officer in the Israeli Defense Forces.

I don't think there's much to this. Initial reports relayed through several people often get misunderstood. I don't think the hijackers used guns.

Sounds believable to me. The airline and airline security don't want anyone to know that they let a gun on board because then they might be liable in court.

Are there any others? >>>The passenger killed was Daniel Lewin<<<

an on board flight attendant contacted American Airlines Operations Center and informed that a passenger located in seat 10B shot and killed a passenger in seat 9B at 9:20 a.m.
"The passenger killed was Daniel Lewin, shot by passenger Satam Al Suqami. One bullet was reported to have been fired." When this was first reported right after 9/11, I don't remember there being anything said about someone having been shot. It just said that the passenger was killed by one of the hijackers, presumably with the box-cutter used on the others. Maybe the Al Queda guy found out that Lewin was Jewish and decided to kill him first presuming that Lewin would have had military training thus would be a threat to the hijackers.
But if the story had mentioned a gun, I probably would have remembered it, also wondering how they'd gotten one on board.

"The American Airlines FAA Principal Security Inspector (PSI) was notified by Suzanne Clark of American Airlines Corporate Headquarters, that an on board flight attendant contacted American Airlines Operations Center and informed that a passenger located in seat 10B shot and killed a passenger in seat 9B at 9:20 a.m." (WorldNetDaily)
What a joke.
Anyone seriously think that a flight attendant is going to count what seat a skyjacker was in when he shot a passenger - and in what seat the dead passenger was riding?
The flight recorders from the planes that hit the WTC have yet to be recovered.
If this isn't a hoax, it sure is the next best thing!

World Net Daily continues to be as reliable as the 3rd level trash sheets that exist below the National Enquirer.

that an on board flight attendant contacted American Airlines Operations Center and informed that a passenger located in seat 10B shot and killed a passenger in seat 9B at 9:20 a.m. I don't suppose that the Operations Center tapes their calls. At the very least the phone company would have a record of it. Can we get the name of the individual that received the call?

As the day Sept 11th wore on, airline personnel began securing their parked aircraft around the system. Within a few days, inspections revealed box-cutters taped under passenger seats inside the aircraft of AA, Delta, and other carriers around the country... My colleagues found them. Inside job?
I can tell you there are a LOT of foreign-born Pakistanis and Arabs in airline aircraft maintenance organizations and working for contractors.
