Bush invites Mel Gibson to White House for screening of Vietnam War movie

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush invited Mel Gibson to the White House on Tuesday to take in the Hollywood star's new film about a historic battle in the Vietnam War.

"There seems to be such a thing as collective unconscious, because there's a plethora of war films right now," Gibson told reporters at the White House. His movie, "We Were Soldiers," about a Nov. 14, 1965, battle in Vietnam's Ia Drang Valley, before the terror attacks in the United States and the ensuing war on terrorism.

Mel has several children and been married for 20+ years. He does not appear to be a RAT. Non-RATs have to be quiet in Hollywood.

He does not appear to be a RAT.

He's not a rat. I am pretty sure that he's a pro-life Catholic with seven(?) children. He also is a gun owner and takes his kids shooting. I remember hearing this stuff when Patriot came out.

Mel's dad, Hutton Gibson, is a stauch Catholic. He wrote a book, as I recall, claiming the recent Popes were invalid due to leaving doctrinal purity. Mel's dad hated liberation theology and many recent trends in liberal catholic history.
