There was a big rig truck chase that was on CNN for a great part of the time and there was a live thread here. It was one of the funniest chases I have seen that even included the back of the rig catching on fire with the driver continuing to drive for a long time with the rig on fire. It was just a good ole dumb ass thief....though people were wondering at the time if it was a terrorist.

6:20 am, like maybe the driver fell asleep, ran off the road, took out some signs, dinged up the bumper, busted some lights and now the driver is looking to cover his a$$ by blaming it on terrorists? (could happen)

Well...I'm guessing here....but if the car was from NJ, and it was stopped near I-264 and I-95....it was either headed away from Raleigh to the coast or headed FROM the coast to Raleigh. Hm.

Neither nuke plant is actually close to downtown Charlotte, where the B of A building is the tallest thing around (something like 72 stories) ...... one is north (just about at the county line with Cabarrus County) and the other is south (actually in SC).

The one in SC is close enough to us that we get an annual calendar assigning us an evacuation center and an evacuation route ..... but we're on the outer fringes of the "danger zone" at about 10 miles away.

Downtown Charlotte is probably 20-30 miles away from either plant.

Most truckers don't like to drive over cars. They have to deal with dopey car drivers all the time.

In CA a few years ago, there was a rash of cars cutting off other cars to collect on insurance and cause carnage.

From what I remember about that area, used to live in Littleton, NC. and traveled to Wilson just about every other day, there is a pretty big truckstop just before 264 hits 95. Who is to say these hadn't been casing the truckstop for someone they thought might stop if put under enough pressure.
