Larry King Live ^ | Brenda & Damon Van Dam

Posted on 02/11/2002 5:06:42 PM PST by Petronski

Larry asked them about it just now on Larry King Live (2-11-2), and they refused to deny it.

"If one of the parties was a less than happy participant then the problem was not the swinging, it was a total lack of communication. Swinging was not the cause, just simply the excuse."

This thing just keeps getting better. So if a mate engages in swinging without being committed to it, and the other mate just keeps getting his/her jollies doing it, it is just bad communication. I suspect that one partner might just wise up that the marriage is in name only, or was forced into swapping by the other partner, and finally just found the self-respect that he or she had.

The husband said he woke up at 12:30 or 1:30, I don't remember and found the alarm blinking and the door open but did not think anything about it. If I had found a door open aand the alrm blinking I would have made sure nothing was wrong

I'll never understand the thought process of the "swinging" set. This whole argument does raise an interesting question in my mind. Who would you rather have as your neighbors? A swinging couple or a pair of homosexual male "life partners" who do not engage in sexual activities with other men outside of their relationship?

I think I'd lean toward the second option.

"Compartmentalizing."

Yes, I have heard that term. Eventually, the compartments just fall apart. It might be later in life, or it might come sooner. But, the walls do come tumbling down.

I also remember reading, I believe, that he went back to sleep, but woke back up when the wife and her friends came home for that "15 minutes."

Not if you are used to adults coming and going at all hours of the night.

The $25,000 is now being put up by a major local bail bond agency: free publicity for them.

The reward is to be paid only after the "safe return" of Danielle, so there is no risk of paying out.

It's all so cold and cynical it makes you want to scream.

I think it might be that it's not relevant to the thread.

I don't know what is sicker. Swinging, or defending it. I wonder what life without morals would be like.

"A swinging couple or a pair of homosexual male "life partners" who do not engage in sexual activities with other men outside of their relationship? "

I have no problem if their lifestyle doesn't interfere with me. They have certain rights, and so do I.

"Typical - insult what you dont understand......"

Just expressing an opinion. And no, I don't understand it. Thank God.

Agreed, Don. I tried to phrase similar thoughts in my other reply, but couldn't get it to sound right.

It has to do with us being creatures that have the ability to choose between right and wrong. That's what's supposed to make being human so special, so different from the animal kingdom. We're supposed to be rising in this world, not sinking to some level of sub-human, lowest- common-denominator behaviour.

And speaking of sub-human, in keeping with the subject of this thread, I too believe that hanging out with "freaks" will only bring trouble into your home. I hope this little girl is okay, but the cynic in me says, "Don't count on it."

Plus it was 25* out, ultra cold for around here.

Open doors would be obvious in a minute, (unless you were stoned and screwing away in your locked garage.)
